Antes de 1899, Norris Forsythe se presenta como autor y profesor mientras promueve públicamente la eugenesia. Lleva sus ideas a las calles de Saint Denis, en Bayou Nwa, donde reparte panfletos e intenta convencer a los transeúntes de sus teorías raciales. Forsythe considera que toda discrepancia es ignorancia, aunque no se conoce ningún trabajo académico o científico que respalde sus afirmaciones.
En 1899, Arthur Morgan encuentra a Forsythe repartiendo uno de sus panfletos en Saint Denis. Arthur rechaza la idea de que la raza determine el valor de una persona y explica que ha conocido a gente buena y mala de distintos orígenes. Forsythe responde con desprecio, llama tonto a Arthur y se aleja al advertir su enfado.
En 1907, John Marston se cruza con Forsythe en Saint Denis, donde vuelve a distribuir propaganda eugenista. John responde con incredulidad a sus afirmaciones y pregunta cómo alguien puede aceptar que se describa a los niños de una forma tan degradante. Tras el encuentro, Forsythe sigue apareciendo como personaje especial por las calles de la ciudad, pero ya no habla con Arthur ni con John.
Curiosidades
- ◆Forsythe shares similarities with real-life eugenicist Harry H. Laughlin. Laughlin endorsed scientifically genetic superiority of the white race and even pushed for compulsory sterilization for "unfit" members of society. His teachings became highly influential to Adolf Hitler.
- ◆Forsythe's overall appearance and ideology are also comparable to that of Adolf Hitler.
- ◆The player's Honor will not be affected if they attack Forsythe.
- ◆Neither will their honor be affected if they loot him.
- ◆Any police officer or pedestrians standing nearby will not react if the player chooses to attack or kill Norris.
- ◆When looted, Forsythe will give the player a bottle of snake oil. "Snake oil" (outside of Red Dead Redemption) refers to a substance sold as a medicine that is ineffective or fraudulent, often marketed with exaggerated claims.
- ◆Because attacking Norris will not affect the player's honor, nor gain the player a wanted level, the player can hogtie Norris and drag him across the map to achieve the Rank 4 Horseman Challenge.
- ◆Although frequently fleeing the player, he may occasionally (if the player is being pursued, e.g. by train guards) try starting a fistfight with the player.
- ◆If the player disrupts a Ku Klux Klan meeting and loots a corpse, a document titled Lemoyne State Chapter Meeting Notes will be retrieved. Within this document the Klansman writes, "Somebody needs to review that pamphlet written by Norris Forsythe. Has anybody read it?"
