في Beecher's Hope، يجد John Marston، Uncle نائما بدلا من أخذ ماشية المزرعة إلى المرعى. ومع إهمال العمل، يوقظه John ويجمع الرجلان القطيع. يمتطيان جواديهما خلف الماشية ويقودانها خارج المزرعة، بينما يساعد Uncle في إعادة الحيوانات التي تبتعد عن المجموعة أثناء توجههم عبر West Elizabeth.
خلف الطريق المؤدي إلى Blackwater، تندلع انفجارات بجوار خط السكك الحديدية. يظهر خارجون عن القانون لسرقة قطار عابر، وتفزع الانفجارات الماشية فتندفع مذعورة. يحث Uncle، John على التقدم أمام القطيع وإيقافه. يستطيع John البقاء مع Uncle لقلب اتجاه الحيوانات، أو ترك Uncle يتولى أمرها بينما يتجه هو نحو القطار.
إذا ذهب John إلى خط السكك الحديدية، يقتل الخارجين عن القانون الذين يهاجمون القطار. يشكره سائقه على إنقاذ القطار وركابه قبل أن ينضم John مجددا إلى Uncle. سواء قاتل John اللصوص أو بقي مع القطيع، يسيطر الرجلان على الماشية ويقودانها إلى مرعاها جنوب غرب Blackwater. يبقى Uncle مع الحيوانات.
معلومات إضافية
- ◆The player may kill and/or attack one or more of the Cows after the mission without any repercussions.
- ◆At the end of the mission, Marston tells Uncle to stay with the cattle, but Uncle replies "you had your pound of flesh from me". This references William Shakespeare's play The Merchant of Venice and the character Shylock.
- ◆After this mission, the cattle seem to disappear, as they don't appear back in the ranch or out in the pastures.
- ◆If the player chooses to not have Marston fight the bandits and help the train and stays with the herd, Uncle will say "You really have changed!".
- ◆During the loading screen, John is wearing his Cowboy Outfit, however, he can only wear his Rancher Outfit due to the forced outfit switch in The Outlaw's Return.
- ◆Keeping all the cows alive will make the player get full Fame and Honor at the end of the mission.
