Spieler-Notizen
An der Hütte nordwestlich von Strawberry tritt Francis Sinclair hinaus, um den Protagonisten zu treffen. Schnell sprechend zieht er ein Buch voller Zeichnungen ungewöhnlicher Rock Carvings hervor und fragt nach ihren Fundorten. Er verspricht eine Bezahlung für die Informationen, überreicht seine Karte und geht zurück in die Hütte.
Der Protagonist reist durch das Grenzland, findet die zehn Rock Carvings und dokumentiert jeden Fundort. Die Fundorte werden Francis über Post Offices zugeschickt, sobald sie entdeckt werden. Nach dem ersten Bericht schickt Francis $10 und Kentucky Bourbon. Nach fünf gemeldeten Carvings folgt eine Rock Statue, und der zehnte bringt eine Einladung von Francis.
Zwei Tage nachdem der letzte Brief abgeschickt wurde, kehrt der Protagonist zu Francis' Hütte zurück. Francis ist nicht da. Tom Sinclair ist tot, und seine Frau empfängt den Besucher, während sie ein Baby mit demselben Muttermal wie Francis im Arm hält. Die an Francis geschickten Zeichnungen wurden zu einem Wandbild zusammengesetzt. Ein Old Brass Compass liegt auf einem Tisch in der Hütte.
Wissenswertes
- ◆If the player tries to collect the locations of the carvings before officially beginning the mission by speaking to Francis, they will only be able to collect nine of them. If the player approaches the final carving before meeting with Sinclair, no prompt will appear to record its location.
- ◆Outside the cabin, there is a fairly visible mound of dirt. It is possible that Francis' father is buried there, since his mother says that the aforementioned died approximately "one year ago".
- ◆If the protagonist finds some of the rock carvings before meeting Francis, they will show him the drawings of them in the journal and Francis will tell them to find the rest of them.
- ◆One of the rock carvings depicts a double helix, despite the latter not being discovered until 1953. This could be related to the fact that Francis Sinclair may potentially be a time traveller.
