Fruit

Fruit, also called Fruit Computers, is a technology corporation founded in 1975. Signage at an apparently abandoned warehouse in Port Tudor, Alderney, identifies it as a former Fruit distribution site. An Outsource For America entry says CEO Doug Hatchet has moved every employee overseas except himself, leaving him alone at Fruit Headquarters with a broken copier and an empty stapler.

During GTA IV and Episodes from Liberty City, Fruit is chiefly seen through advertising and its website, Fruitcomputers.com. Ads for the iFruit 3G and uHelmet appear in Star Junction, while Fruit sponsors CNT programmes including the WTF musical and A History of Liberty City. The website promotes the iFruit 3G and mentions the Fruit Cocoon desktop. A Fruit computer provides the synthetic female host voice on The Journey radio station.

In GTA Chinatown Wars, every safehouse contains a Fruit laptop, pink on DS and black on PSP. It handles email and Rockstar Games Social Club compatibility, though it does not provide internet access. Characters including Wu Lee use fruitcomputers.com email addresses. An email describes Fruit computers as the winner of Code Wanker Meet 2008's "Best Ornament that goes Beep" vote.

In GTA V, Fruit launches the iFruit 9iX, which becomes common alongside Fruit computers in workplaces. Michael De Santa uses one, and the enhanced version gives him a newer iFruit model. Fruitcomputers.com promotes the 9iX and its virtual assistant Shelley, while reports mention proposed iFruit Shoes and iFruit Underwear. GTA Online retains updated iFruit phones and evolving computer operating systems. Fruit owns iFruit Radio, broadcast in Los Santos from 2019 and hosted by Danny Brown.
