Fish

Fish are marine animals that appear across several Grand Theft Auto games and are due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI. In GTA San Andreas, they travel in schools through large bodies of water. In the original releases, these schools appear as two-dimensional sprites and cannot be interacted with. Later appearances use three-dimensional fish models.

Fish also appear in isolated settings away from open water. Several dead fish are visible during Gone Fishing. Yusuf Amir's Penthouse contains a small number of ornamental fish, while green dumpsters can sometimes hold severed fish heads.

In GTA V, fish are present in every version of the game and can be killed. In the enhanced version, eating a Peyote plant can turn the player into one fish type, although the other fish types cannot be controlled. GTA Online places fish only in the Pacific in its enhanced version. Its Peyote Plants, added during the continuation of The Diamond Casino & Resort update, can also transform the player into a fish.
