Sharks

Sharks appear in the waters of Vice City, San Andreas and San Andreas in GTA V and GTA Online. In GTA Vice City, they are uncommon marine animals that can be mistaken for dolphins, and they remain still as they move through the water. They cannot be harmed by gunfire, although explosions can kill them. GTA San Andreas also has rare sharks, which do not attack people.

In GTA V and GTA Online, sharks inhabit ocean waters at varying depths and are dangerous predators. They tend to appear more often at night, sometimes in pairs, and circle a swimmer before attacking. A shark kills with a single bite, shaking its victim in its jaws. At the far edge of the map, one appears to stop anyone from travelling farther offshore.

The original GTA V releases use a shark model combining features of tiger and great white sharks. Enhanced versions add non-aggressive hammerhead sharks. Trevor can become a tiger shark after consuming Peyote in the Enhanced version. Abigail Mathers says San Andreas sharks are close to extinction, accounting for their infrequent appearances. In GTA Online, sharks attack during Setup: Intel in the Oscar Guzman Flies Again strand, and a dead shark can wash up on Cayo Perico's eastern coast.
