  • โ—†If he, by chance, is killed by a rattlesnake or such, the player will not fail the mission.
  • โ—†It is possible to kill Zhou after the Chuparosa meeting. After the cutscene, Zhou will continue to sit on the bench. Marston can then kill him, at the loss of 50 honor (unless the player is wearing the Bandana).
  • โ—†He can be seen walking from El Matadero to Chuparosa after he is freed.
  • โ—†While it may seem strange to see a Chinese immigrant in early 20th century Mexico, this was actually quite common during the era the game(s) are set in. It's important to note that Mexico was a destination for immigrants, particularly from Asia and Central Europe (although not nearly to the extent of English-speaking countries like America, Canada, Australia, and South Africa.) Reports of Chinese immigration to Mexico date back to Spanish colonial rule. However, much like in the neighbouring United States & Canada, they were often used for cheap (and borderline slave-like) labour - building railroads and other infrastructure projects as the Mexican government sought to expand and modernize the country between 1880 and 1910. There is still a sizable Chinese diaspora in Mexico's major cities to this day.
  • โ—†He shares the same name with a character in GTA Chinatown Wars, another Rockstar Games game.
  • โ—†A man named Chu Fuk Choi, wearing the exact same clothes and with a similar voice, can be seen in and around the bank in Blackwater.
  • โ—†In Red Dead Redemption 2 the player can find the corpse of a man named Zhou Yi and loot a letter from his uncle Zhou Wei. The letter reveals that Yi was looking for his cousin Zhou Ming who is likely the Zhou later encountered by Marston in Mexico (Zhou being the family's name). Wei mentions that Ming had married a woman named Zhi Ruo and gone to America to make his fortune independently from his family, much to Wei's disapproval.
  • โ—†He is named Lao Zhou in the game files. However, "Lao" (่€) is a common Chinese prefix for surnames that indicates familiarity, and is not a first name in this case. It does not exclude the high likelihood that Lao Zhou is indeed Zhou Ming.
