Appleseed Timber Co. Logging Foreman

The Logging Foreman runs the Appleseed Timber Company camp at Monto's Rest in Big Valley, West Elizabeth. Nothing is known of his life before 1899. When Arthur Morgan first meets him, he identifies himself as the company's foreman and offers lumber for sale. He admits his crew has fallen behind and that supplies are running low. Unable to spare a man to fetch more, he asks Arthur to sell him provisions if he has any.

Later, a tree comes down the wrong way and pins one of the loggers beneath it. The foreman and the crew rush to the injured man, and Arthur can join them in lifting the trunk. Afterward, the foreman thanks Arthur, but tells the worker that an injury sustained while working means he cannot be paid.

On Arthur's next visit, the foreman orders the men back to their jobs. They refuse after wolves raid the site and kill two workers. Frustrated, he asks Arthur to deal with the wolves. If Arthur kills them, the foreman pays him. If Arthur has offered to obtain materials for Curtis's father's house at Castor's Ridge, the foreman provides the needed lumber without charge because of Arthur's earlier help. Once the logging is complete, he and his crew leave Monto's Rest.
