Player notes

• ◆If the player approaches Albert to do his mission past 18:00 in-game time, Mason will leave the area saying "Alas! We've lost the light. Have to save this photograph for another day!"
• ◆If the player skins the wolves in Part II, Mason will comment on it. This is an easy way to obtain a lot of perfect wolf pelts as well, so long as the player kills each wolf with a single shot from the correct type of weapon and ammo (a rifle with any ammo except explosive, or a bow with standard, improved, or poison arrows).
• ◆Part III will be skipped in the epilogue, most likely because John would not know how to herd horses.
• ◆In Part III, Albert likes to take a photo of the wild Missouri Fox Trotter. However, this horse is not a wild animal and can only be obtained by buying it in the Stables.
• ◆(As of Jan 20th 2026 You are still able to get the Silver Dapple Pinto during this mission by running to Albert before the cut scene and then skipping cut scene and running to Silver Dapple Pinto and "jumping to horse". This is the only way to get this horse after the below patch that is mentioned. You will want to take it to the stables BEFORE getting off the horse then saving and reloading in order to be able to use the horse. Tested on Jan 20 2026 and still works) This has since been patched out of the game, but it was once possible during Part III to acquire the Silver Dapple Pinto Missouri Fox Trotter a full four chapters before the player is supposed to. While herding the horses, go into Eagle Eye, track the Silver Dapple Pinto and then exit Eagle Eye while staying focused on the horse's trail. Once Mason photographs the herd, go to him and skip the cutscene as soon as it starts. Then follow the horse's trail, carefully and patiently, as the trail can be lost and the tracking process can last approximately up to 10 minutes. Once you find the horse, jump on it from your horse's back and ride it to the nearest stable without dismounting it to saddle it up or store it. Save the game and load the save file you just made. Then the horse will be yours to keep.
• ◆After the patch, none of the horses that spawn for the photoshoot can be targeted, so are unable to be calmed, studied, or made to flee, are immune to being lassoed, and completely despawn after the cutscene with Albert Mason.
• ◆Prior to the patch, this made the Silver Dapple Pinto Missouri Fox Trotter and the Dark Bay Turkoman the only two horses whose coat colors are supposed to only be available in the Epilogue that are also completely obtainable in the main story.
• ◆However, the player can still be able to acquire Silver Dapple Pinto Missouri Fox Trotter by parking their own horse looking at the East side looking at two trees, commanding their horse to stay. Starting the mission and approaching Mason through his horse while herding before he takes photos, the player can trigger and skip the cutscene and immediately rush East side between the two trees to catch up to the horse and jump on it from their horse's back. The game will despawn the horse if the player failed to trigger Mason's dialogue and the horse went through the double tree line.
• ◆The images taken by Albert Mason are part of the gallery of Saint Denis in the mission "The Artist's Way".
• ◆If Arthur boards the boat after taking the pictures of the alligators in Part IV, Albert will say, "You are welcome to come aboard, but I am afraid this will be boring", "You are a very peculiar man", and "I would think you'd be tired of rowing with me", and then go on in circles around the islets in Lagras swamp for as long as Arthur is aboard, then despawn when Arthur jumps off and rides away for a bit.
