El Legendary Channel Catfish es un pez legendario basado en el Channel Catfish, Ictalurus punctatus. Es una especie poco común de Red Dead Redemption 2, y los informes le atribuyen más de noventa pulgadas de longitud y un peso cercano a las ciento ochenta libras. Su tamaño supuesto explica por qué los pescadores no han logrado sacarlo del agua.
Los rumores sitúan al pez en el San Luis River, en Río Bravo, New Austin, al sur de Benedict Point. Se lo asocia con el cielo cubierto. Los pescadores llevan años intentando atraparlo, pero el Legendary Channel Catfish sigue fuera de su alcance.
Jeremy Gill intenta pescar el Legendary Channel Catfish durante "A Fisher of Fish II". El pez no puede verse ni capturarse, tampoco durante el intento de Gill.

- ◆After completing "A Fisher of Fish II", the Legendary compendium version of this fish shows the default Channel Catfish compendium image.
- ◆While the Legendary Channel Catfish cannot be seen in-game, it has a fully rendered model unused in the game's files, it is roughly four times the size of an ordinary Channel Catfish. Attempting to spawn it with the use of mods will cause the model to glitch; however, it does have a functioning swimming animation. The player cannot kill it and managing to get it on land will cause it to roll around.
- ◆As this fish's location is in New Austin, the player will only be able to start this mission and add it to the compendium after the Epilogue. However, Arthur Morgan does have recorded lines for catching the Legendary Channel Catfish, which can only be triggered through the use of mods.
- ◆On the way to Rio Bravo, one of the nicknames that Jeremy Gill comes up with for the fish is "El Diablo Amarillo", Spanish for "The Yellow Devil".
- ◆While he further describes it as purportedly being "pallid yellow" in appearance, its cut model is notably albino. This may be a developer oversight, although it's possible the fish was intended to be albino prior to being scrapped.
- ◆Game files state that the fish's cut model was not intended to be interacted with by the player.
