O Legendary Channel Catfish é um peixe lendário baseado no Channel Catfish, Ictalurus punctatus. É uma espécie rara em Red Dead Redemption 2, e há relatos de que pode passar de noventa polegadas de comprimento e pesar cerca de cento e oitenta libras. Seu tamanho atribuído explica por que pescadores não conseguem tirá-lo da água.
Os rumores situam o peixe no San Luis River, em Río Bravo, New Austin, ao sul de Benedict Point. Ele é associado ao tempo nublado. Pescadores tentam capturá-lo há anos, mas o Legendary Channel Catfish continua fora de alcance.
Jeremy Gill tenta pescar o Legendary Channel Catfish durante "A Fisher of Fish II". O peixe não pode ser visto nem capturado, inclusive durante a tentativa de Gill.

- ◆After completing "A Fisher of Fish II", the Legendary compendium version of this fish shows the default Channel Catfish compendium image.
- ◆While the Legendary Channel Catfish cannot be seen in-game, it has a fully rendered model unused in the game's files, it is roughly four times the size of an ordinary Channel Catfish. Attempting to spawn it with the use of mods will cause the model to glitch; however, it does have a functioning swimming animation. The player cannot kill it and managing to get it on land will cause it to roll around.
- ◆As this fish's location is in New Austin, the player will only be able to start this mission and add it to the compendium after the Epilogue. However, Arthur Morgan does have recorded lines for catching the Legendary Channel Catfish, which can only be triggered through the use of mods.
- ◆On the way to Rio Bravo, one of the nicknames that Jeremy Gill comes up with for the fish is "El Diablo Amarillo", Spanish for "The Yellow Devil".
- ◆While he further describes it as purportedly being "pallid yellow" in appearance, its cut model is notably albino. This may be a developer oversight, although it's possible the fish was intended to be albino prior to being scrapped.
- ◆Game files state that the fish's cut model was not intended to be interacted with by the player.
