Patrick "Packie" McReary, doppiato da Ryan Johnston, è un rapinatore, spacciatore e pistolero freelance di Liberty City, appartenente alla McReary Crime Family. Dopo aver lasciato la città in cui lavorava con Niko Bellic e altri associati criminali, nel 2013 vive a Los Santos. Entra nella storia durante l'evento casuale Getaway Driver, rapinando una farmacia a Strawberry con un complice senza nome.

Packie chiede al protagonista di passaggio di trovare loro un veicolo per la fuga. Se vengono portati via da Strawberry e riescono a seminare la polizia, ricambia l'aiuto entrando nel gruppo di pistoleri per le rapine di Lester Crest. La sua esperienza lo rende uno dei tiratori più capaci della squadra, anche se pretende una quota maggiore rispetto a molti dei pistoleri disponibili.

Quando Michael, Franklin e Trevor lo ingaggiano per The Jewel Store Job, Packie aiuta a svuotare le vetrine in entrambi gli approcci. Può poi accompagnare la squadra da Sandy Shores a Paleto Bay per The Paleto Score, dove ricorda la rapina alla Bank of Liberty, il defunto fratello Derrick e la perdita dei contatti con Niko. Combatte al fianco della squadra durante la fuga dalla banca.

Packie è disponibile anche per The Bureau Raid. Nel piano sotto copertura, sopravvive all'esplosione durante la fuga, mentre nel piano con ingresso dal tetto svolge il proprio compito. Può restare con la squadra in entrambe le versioni di The Big Score, mettendo le sue abilità da pistolero al servizio della rapina finale a Los Santos.

◆Not counting radio characters and celebrities with their different reality versions (e.g. Lazlow Jones), Patrick McReary and Johnny Klebitz are the two characters with the most physical appearances in the series, appearing in five total games.
◆According to Gerald, Packie has a tattoo of his own name on one of his arms, though it is never seen in any game.
◆In GTA IV, Packie's favorite radio station is Liberty Rock Radio and he will respond positively if the player switches to this station whilst in a vehicle, claiming he wants it to play at his funeral. In GTA V, Packie's favorite radio station is Los Santos Rock Radio.
◆He will sometimes refer to Niko as "boyo", which traditionally refers to someone younger than oneself, despite Niko being one year older than Packie. He also calls Franklin, Michael, Trevor and the "kid", though only Franklin and optionally the GTA Online protagonist are younger than him.
◆If playing as Trevor, the player can take Packie and his friend to the Altruist Cult. If taken to the Altruist Cult, Packie will mention how he used to hate going bowling and playing darts in Liberty City, but admits he misses it after spending so much time in Los Santos. As they get closer to the Altruist Camp, he will begin to talk about his friendship with Niko Bellic.
◆Packie seems to have an affinity for reality TV, which he mentions during mission dialogue in GTA IV and in dialogues during the random event encounter while driving up to the Altruist Cult as Trevor in GTA V.
◆If assisted in his random encounter in GTA V, Packie states that his fellow accomplice is the only person that he knows in Los Santos. However, if chosen for The Jewel Store Job (his next possible appearance), he will somewhat contradict this by saying that he has met many people since moving there, speaking of their generally self-centred nature. However, he maybe just doesn't like many people in Los Santos, or has been comparing their attitudes to people from Liberty City.
◆His reappearance in 2019 (in GTA Online) clearly confirms all his possible deaths in GTA V to be non-canon.
◆Additionally, all his voice lines in GTA Online seem to be reused from GTA V, probably due to Ryan Johnston being inactive during the production of The Diamond Casino Heist update.
