Il Jobuilt Phantom è un trattore stradale Commercial a due posti dalla classica cabina americana a muso lungo. Il suo design si ispira a diversi camion pesanti reali, combinando un lungo cofano, una cabina rialzata, un compartimento letto, filtri dell'aria esterni e terminali di scarico verticali. Finiture cromate circondano la griglia e i doppi fari rotondi, mentre la parte posteriore è un telaio da trattore spoglio predisposto per agganciare un rimorchio.

In Grand Theft Auto V, il Phantom può trainare rimorchi. È dotato di una radio CB e, mentre Trevor lo guida a Blaine County, talvolta si possono sentire conversazioni tra camionisti anche con la radio principale spenta. La cabina, il compartimento letto e i parafanghi posteriori possono presentarsi in diverse tinte unite, e il camion utilizza le ruote industriali condivise con veicoli tra cui Mule, Benson e Towtruck.

Il Phantom resta abbastanza veloce per i viaggi a lunga distanza ed è eccezionalmente resistente per la sua categoria. Il suo grande peso gli consente di spingere via il traffico e lo rende difficile da danneggiare, ma lo sterzo è lento e tende ad allargare la traiettoria in curva. Ha il baricentro alto e perde velocità in salita, risultando poco adatto alla guida fuoristrada.

◆The name "Phantom" may be a reference to "Phantom 309", a truck driving song released originally by Red Sovine in 1967.
◆As a "phantom" is an invisible entity, the word being applied as a name for a large, conspicuous vehicle such as a tractor-trailer may also be considered an example of Rockstar's humour.
◆The Phantom and the Packer in GTA IV both claim to have a V24 Supercharged engine, however, they are too small to fit a V24 engine; the correct configuration are either a straight-6 or V8, which are common in many industrial trucks. It is possible that the V24 nomenclature was meant to reference a 24-valve Straight-6 engine type, despite the fact that references to valve configurations on several other vehicles appears to be in the more accurate "24V" style nomenclature. It is possibly an oversight.
◆This also applies to several MTL and Jobuilt vehicles in both GTA V and GTA Online, where the same badge appears on them.
◆In Grand Theft Auto IV, the Phantom is always unlocked, meaning that the player's character doesn't have to break the window when stealing it.
