A Clemens Point, Abigail dice ad Arthur che Hosea e John lo stanno aspettando con il moonshine sottratto ai Braithwaite. Dutch ha affidato a John un altro incarico, così Arthur raggiunge a cavallo il nascondiglio e si unisce a Hosea. Hosea non ha un acquirente per il liquore e decide di restituirlo a Braithwaite Manor come merce apparentemente recuperata. John parte per indagare sui cavalli da corsa dei Braithwaite.
A Braithwaite Manor, Hosea chiede a Catherine Braithwaite metà del valore del moonshine come ricompensa. I suoi figli minacciano la coppia, ma Catherine li ferma e ordina di pagare. Sa che Sheriff Leigh Gray ha organizzato il furto. Per altri dieci dollari, ordina a Hosea e Arthur di distribuire il moonshine nel saloon dei Gray a Rhodes. Durante il viaggio, Hosea li presenta come i fratelli Melvin e Fenton, assegnando ad Arthur il ruolo dello sciocco.
Al Rhodes Parlour House, Hosea e Arthur annunciano moonshine gratis e servono gli avventori finché il saloon non precipita nel caos dell'ubriachezza. Arrivano i Lemoyne Raiders, furiosi perché il liquore destinato a loro è stato distribuito. Arthur e Hosea si fanno strada a colpi d'arma attraverso il saloon, salgono al piano di sopra e saltano sul loro carro. Escono da Rhodes sotto il fuoco nemico, uccidendo i Raiders che li inseguono, poi raggiungono Clemens Cove.

Curiosità
- ◆Arthur and Hosea were originally going to wear unique outfits during this mission for their roles of Melvin and Fenton, which consisted of blue stitched-up overalls, long fake beards and wide-brimmed hats. These outfits were cut from the final game, but can be found and restored from the game files.
- ◆There is a typo in the subtitles for Part I, in which "looking" is spelled as "lookng".
- ◆If they wish, the player can skip Part I by going straight to Hosea and John.
- ◆If Arthur has completed "Preaching Forgiveness as He Went" before this mission, he will comment on the Lemoyne Raiders at the start of the gunfight, calling them "the bastards from Shady Belle".
- ◆This is one of the few missions in the game where the player will not incur an Honor loss for killing horses, the other ones being "Urban Pleasures", "The Fine Art of Conversation" and "Our Best Selves".
- ◆The train car that appears near the start of the mission only appears a few times throughout the game, featuring beds for passengers; although no passengers are present in it during the mission.
- ◆During the shootout in the saloon, there is a unique Lemoyne Raider with a full, yellow mask who is believed to never appear anywhere else in the game. Despite this, the appearance of this Raider is randomized and will spawn as one of thirty-three masked men everytime the mission reloads.
- ◆The cut Rhodes Doctor and a fiddle player for Rhodes were originally intended to also be seen drunk in the saloon during this mission.
- ◆The player will have unlimited ammunition during the escape from the saloon.
- ◆After this mission if the player goes back to the saloon, Arthur may get recognized as "Fenton".
- ◆If the player alerts a witness, Hosea will react to it and command the player to prevent the witness from reporting to the law. The same applies in "The Spines of America".
