• ◆Arthur's proximity to Uncle affects how he wakes him up - if he's close enough, he will kick Uncle in the leg, but if he isn't he will simply shout at him.
• ◆During the girls' song on the way to Valentine, Karen mixes up the lyrics at one point and laughs about it. This was a genuine moment made during recording that was left in the final game.
• ◆If Arthur catches and returns the horse to its owner but then accidentally harms it (even if non-fatally), subsequent dialogue will play out as if Arthur never returned the horse at all.
• ◆The dialogue on the way to Valentine will change depending if "Americans at Rest" has been completed.
• ◆Upon arriving in Valentine, a unique train with very few wagons can be seen heading west. A man can be seen running onto one of the cars before it departs.
• ◆While in the general store, Uncle will ask Arthur to buy either coffee, chocolate or cigar.
• ◆If Arthur goes behind the counter while in the General Store, the shopkeeper will not react to it.
• ◆While searching for Karen, if the player enters the room to the right from the rent room they will encounter the constipated man that can be heard every time the player enters the hotel in free roam. Additionally, if the player enters room 1B before heading upstairs, they will encounter a member of the Chelonians praying on his knees.
• ◆However, both rooms will be locked and both the constipated man and the Chelonian will be absent if Arthur tries to visit them after finding Karen.
• ◆Killing any of the two characters will result in mission failure and the "law was alerted" message, regardless of the weapon used.
• ◆After the mission is complete, the bathroom and room 2A in the Saints Hotel will become temporarily unlocked for the player to explore. Moreover, the hotel clerk asks him not to cause any trouble.
• ◆It is possible to skip the man who needs help with his wagon by heading directly to the point and not following the trail.
• ◆Arthur can technically kill Anthony Foreman, but in doing so he will fail the mission because the law has been alerted.
• ◆It is possible to mount Anthony Foreman's horse without obtaining a wanted level but the player cannot ride too far away from the area as this would cause the mission to fail.
• ◆If Arthur steals Anthony Foreman's horse, the latter will pursue the player until they retrieve it back. In this case, If Arthur gets on Anthony's horse again the mission will fail due to "the law being alerted".
• ◆Karen's dialogue after returning to the group depends on Arthur's decision to either kill the client or simply knock him out.
• ◆The only way to kill Karen's abuser is by choking him, as the game doesn't allow the player to use any weapons inside the hotel.
• ◆If the player does nothing while Jimmy Brooks is hanging from the cliff, he will fail to get back on and eventually fall to his death.
• ◆There are two bits of foreshadowing quotes that Arthur will remember during his final ride to camp in the "Red Dead Redemption" mission depending on his Honor:
• ◆If Arthur questions Brooks about recognizing him while the latter is hanging onto the cliff, he will say, "I made a mistake, I’m sorry!", a line that Arthur remembers if his Honor is low.
• ◆Afterward, if Arthur decides to help Brooks climb back up to safety, the latter will say, "You saved my life... you're a good man!", a line that Arthur remembers if his Honor is high.
• ◆Arthur writes two pages in his journal after the mission is complete; the second page will differ depending on the fate of Jimmy Brooks.
• ◆If the player loots Jimmy Brooks' horse, he won't react to it.
• ◆It is possible to kill Jimmy Brooks after the mission when he is leaving the area. Arthur will say "Sorry, Jimmy Brooks."
• ◆If the player follows Jimmy Brooks after the mission, they will see him loitering around Lucky's Cabin.
• ◆Arthur may have a few contextual conversations at camp after this mission. He may tell Dutch about being recognized by the Man from Blackwater, he may tell Mary-Beth that she did good finding out about the train, he may ask Tilly about the guy that hassled her, and he may ask Karen if she has recovered. Some of the girls at camp may be available to talk about Valentine generally in the subsequent days.
• ◆The pen that Jimmy Brooks gives Arthur is a unique item. When Mary-Beth tells Arthur she would like a pen for her writing, this particular one cannot be used to satisfy said item request.
• ◆It cannot be looted from Jimmy's corpse and can only be obtained through the cutscene.
• ◆If you have a second horse, it will be lost upon completion of the mission.
