الـGood Samaritan هو أحد سكان Saint Denis مجهولي الهوية، رجل لا يُعرف شيء عن ماضيه. لا يظهر إلا خلال فترة وجود Arthur Morgan في المدينة، حين يكون مرض السل الذي يعاني منه Arthur قد بدأ يتركه ضعيفا وعرضة لنوبات سعال عنيفة. يرتدي أناقة تفوق أناقة كثير من المارة، ببدلة رمادية داكنة فوق قميص أبيض مخطط بخطوط دقيقة، وقبعة بيج بشريط أزرق، وحذاء مصقول. له شعر بني وشارب ملتف الأطراف.
ينهار Arthur خلال نوبة سعال في Saint Denis. فيهب الـGood Samaritan لمساعدته فورا. إذا سقط Arthur في الطريق، يسحبه الرجل إلى الرصيف ثم يعينه على الوقوف مجددا. بالكاد يستطيع Arthur المتابعة، وينتظر الـSamaritan بينما يستعيد ما يكفي من القوة للتحرك. يبقى إلى جانب Arthur بدلا من تركه في الشارع.
يرافق الـGood Samaritan Arthur عبر Saint Denis إلى العيادة الطبية التابعة لـDoctor Joseph R. Barnes. ويتأكد من وصول Arthur إلى مكتب الطبيب بأمان، ويمنحه المال لعلاجه. يُترك Arthur في العيادة، بينما يغادر الرجل الذي ساعده. لا يظهر الـGood Samaritan مجددا بعد ذلك اللقاء في Saint Denis.

- ◆If the player has no money during the mission, the Good Samaritan will give $10 to Arthur when entering the clinic.
- ◆The Good Samaritan shares a slight facial resemblance to Thomas Downes.
- ◆In terms of clothing, he wears an outfit similar to Nigel.
- ◆This had led to speculation that perhaps the Good Samaritan is Nigel's long lost friend Gavin due to the similar fashion in which they are dressed, although presumably unlike Gavin, the Samaritan does not have an English accent. This theory has been proven ultimately false as Dan Houser confirmed in an interview that Gavin is a real person but wasn't included in the game at all and the side mission of finding him got scrapped during the game's development.
- ◆The Good Samaritan's name is derived from the Parable of the Good Samaritan, a story in the Bible which coined the term "Good Samaritan" for a person who helps a stranger.
