Good Samaritan

The Good Samaritan is an unnamed resident of Saint Denis, a man whose past is not known. He appears only during Arthur Morgan's time in the city, when Arthur's tuberculosis has begun to leave him weak and prone to violent coughing fits. Dressed more smartly than many passers-by, he wears a dark grey suit over a pinstriped white shirt, a beige hat with a blue band, and polished shoes. He has brown hair and a handlebar mustache.

Arthur collapses during a coughing fit in Saint Denis. The Good Samaritan comes to his aid at once. If Arthur falls in the road, the man pulls him onto the sidewalk, then helps him back to his feet. Arthur can barely continue, and the Samaritan waits while he recovers enough strength to move. He stays beside Arthur rather than leaving him in the street.

The Good Samaritan escorts Arthur through Saint Denis to Doctor Joseph R. Barnes' medical clinic. He makes sure Arthur reaches the doctor's office safely and gives him money for his treatment. Arthur is left at the clinic, while the man who helped him departs. The Good Samaritan is not seen again after that encounter in Saint Denis.
