• ◆Like the fire bottle, it can be used to kill certain NPCs who are normally unable to be targeted by the player. Despite this, some characters including Thomas Downes and children are completely immune to it as of the most recent patch.
• ◆It can also be used to craft dynamite arrows, which will explode upon impact.
• ◆Shooting dynamite will cause it to explode. This also applies to the crates of dynamite found around the map and in missions.
• ◆Blowing up a train's engine will render it completely inoperable.
• ◆Outside of missions, the usage of dynamite tends to be rather unrealistic as it does not properly damage buildings and many objects, and successfully throwing dynamite in particular would be extremely difficult to pull off. Despite this, NPCs do not actually use dynamite outside of scripted scenarios, with the mission "Urban Pleasures" and the Online mission "Come Hell, Come High Water" being the only two instances where it is used as a weapon. The latter mission appears to be a reference to "We Shall Be Together in Paradise", which is the only mission in Red Dead Redemption where dynamite is used as a weapon by NPCs.
