John Marston trifft bei Luisa Fortunas Haus in Campo Mirada ein, wo Miranda ihre Mutter vor dem Haus tröstet. Die Familie erwartet, dass Abraham Reyes' Revolution bald ausbricht. Sie wollen sich in den Hügeln verstecken, doch Miranda muss Mexiko wegen der Gefahr verlassen, der Frauen dort ausgesetzt sind. Luisa weigert sich, den bevorstehenden Kampf im Stich zu lassen, und bleibt zurück.
Luisa bittet John, Miranda zu den Docks zu bringen, wo ein Boot sie zu einem Mann nach Yucatán bringen wird, für den sie arbeiten soll. John nimmt die Zügel einer Postkutsche und Miranda steigt zu ihm ein. Sie brechen von Campo Mirada auf und rasen zum Schiff, bevor es ablegt. Soldaten der Mexican Army halten die Kutsche auf der Straße an, halten die beiden für Rebellen und eröffnen das Feuer.
John fährt durch die Kontrollpunkte der Armee, während Miranda ihn an den Straßensperren vorbeilotst. An einer Brücke rücken weitere Soldaten näher, und berittene Verfolger nehmen die Kutsche auf. John wehrt sie ab, während er weiter zur Küste fährt, und erledigt dann einen letzten Soldaten, der einen Wagen lenkt. In Puerto Cuchillo dankt Miranda John und fährt mit dem Boot davon, während er mit der Postkutsche an den Docks bleibt.

- ◆During gameplay, there are four horses pulling the stagecoach, however in the first cutscene, there are only two.
- ◆Attentively listening to Miranda is actually highly instructive (only once or so perhaps does she offer imperfect counsel regarding efficient road travel). On the whole, her instruction should be obeyed without thinking. When Miranda says, "Push through the embattlement!", or, "Go this or that way!", one should heed her - independent thinking allows a few shorter cuts than she advises, but not by much and the evasive tactics she urges to Marston's mind, prove efficacious.
- ◆Luisa's sister seems as though she does not like it when John kills the soldiers, as she will say things along the line of "Have you no feelings?"
- ◆If John shoots the soldiers before the first cutscene, this will trigger the first cutscene to be skipped. It will not disrupt the mission. Sniper and scoped weaponry have relevance here.
