John Marston arrives at Luisa Fortuna's home in Campo Mirada, where Miranda comforts her mother outside the house. The family expects Abraham Reyes's revolution to break out soon. They plan to hide in the hills, but Miranda must leave Mexico because of the danger women face there. Luisa refuses to abandon the coming fight and remains behind.
Luisa asks John to take Miranda to the docks, where a boat will carry her to work for a man in Yucatán. John takes the reins of a stagecoach and Miranda joins him. They set out from Campo Mirada, racing for the ship before it departs. Mexican Army soldiers stop the coach on the road and mistake the pair for rebels, opening fire.
John drives through the army checkpoints while Miranda directs him away from the roadblocks. More soldiers close in at a bridge, and mounted pursuers ride after the coach. John fights them off as he continues toward the coast, then deals with a final soldier driving a wagon. At Puerto Cuchillo, Miranda thanks John and leaves on the boat as he remains with the stagecoach at the docks.

- ◆This mission title is a parody of the Biblical verse in Genesis 4:9, in which God asked Cain where his slain brother Abel was, and Cain replied, "I don't know. Am I my brother's keeper?" (NIV)
- ◆During gameplay, there are four horses pulling the stagecoach, however in the first cutscene, there are only two.
- ◆Attentively listening to Miranda is actually highly instructive (only once or so perhaps does she offer imperfect counsel regarding efficient road travel). On the whole, her instruction should be obeyed without thinking. When Miranda says, "Push through the embattlement!", or, "Go this or that way!", one should heed her - independent thinking allows a few shorter cuts than she advises, but not by much and the evasive tactics she urges to Marston's mind, prove efficacious.
- ◆Luisa's sister seems as though she does not like it when John kills the soldiers, as she will say things along the line of "Have you no feelings?"
- ◆If John shoots the soldiers before the first cutscene, this will trigger the first cutscene to be skipped. It will not disrupt the mission. Sniper and scoped weaponry have relevance here.
