Josiah Trelawny

While at the Mayor's party, the Van der Linde gang learned of a poker tournament being held on the Grand Korrigan riverboat at the docks in Saint Denis. Leopold Strauss and Josiah Trelawny fix a game so Arthur Morgan can win big on the tables.

Arthur Morgan trifft Josiah Trelawny vor einem Schneider in Saint Denis, wo Trelawny erklärt, dass er geschniegelt aussehen müsse, bevor sie die Grand Korrigan betreten. Arthur kauft einen Fine Three-Piece Town Suit und besucht einen Barbier. Trelawny erklärt, dass Desmond Blythe ihr Ziel ist, ein wohlhabender Pokerspieler, der Sicherheiten im Tresor des Flussdampfers aufbewahrt. Arthur steigt mit Trelawny in eine Kutsche und nimmt die Identität eines Ölmanns an, der kürzlich ein Vermögen gemacht hat.

An den Docks lässt Arthur seine Waffen in der Kutsche und betritt mit Trelawny, Leopold Strauss und Javier Escuella die Grand Korrigan. Die anderen beziehen ihre Positionen, während Arthur an Blythes Pokertisch Platz nimmt. Strauss lotst Arthur unauffällig durch die Hände. Die anderen Spieler scheiden aus, sodass Arthur Blythe gegenübersteht. Arthur schlägt ihn und akzeptiert dann ein zweites Spiel, als Blythe seine Reutlinger Pocket Watch setzt, die Arthur ebenfalls gewinnt.

Der Pit Boss führt Arthur nach oben zum Tresor, während Javier sich als Wachmann ausgibt. Sobald er geöffnet ist, überwältigt Javier den anderen Wachmann und Arthur entwaffnet den Pit Boss. Als Arthur das Geld nimmt, zieht der Mann eine zweite Waffe und zwingt Arthur, ihn zu erschießen. Zurück an der Bar beschuldigt Blythe Arthur, bevor der Wachmann, dessen Uniform Javier gestohlen hat, ihn enttarnt. Arthur, Javier, Strauss und Trelawny kämpfen sich zum Deck, springen in den Fluss und erreichen das Ufer in Saint Denis, wo sie die Beute aufteilen und Arthur die Uhr behält.

Wissenswertes

  • ◆Completing this mission unlocks the High Roller Double-Action Revolver.
  • ◆The other three poker players who go bust in the first round are shown to be named Theodore Dixon, Perry Eastep, and Owen Gillies.
  • ◆Looting the corpses of the killed guards after the shootout at the bar will reduce the player's honor.
  • ◆Sometime after completing the mission, a random man in Saint Denis may notice that Arthur looks similar to who he saw on the boat. If so, he confronts Arthur about it, and Arthur can try to defuse the situation or antagonize the man. Regardless, he continues to believe that Arthur is responsible for the robbery, but leaves instead of notifying police.
  • ◆If Arthur is already wearing a suit before the mission, he will act surprised and confused when Trelawny tells him to smarten up, instead of casually asking why. Trelawny will then say that his suit "isn't fit" for the task at hand.
  • ◆The outfit Arthur wears during this mission, the Wittemore, is affected by Arthur's honor level. In a High Honor playthrough the vest and tie will be blue, and in a Low Honor playthrough they will be red.
  • ◆After the mission, the Wittemore will be temporarily saved on the player's horse. The player can permanently keep it by modifying the outfit and then saving it.
  • ◆The Wittemore would later be worn by Arthur in "Banking, The Old American Art".
  • ◆Javier will also wear the same formal outfit he wears here during said mission.
  • ◆After completing this mission, all barber shops provide an extra clean shave to players.
  • ◆At the beginning of the poker room shootout, an unnamed guard will walk into the room casually and upon discovering the skirmish, he will aim his gun at Javier while his back is turned and if Arthur does not kill him, Strauss will hit him in the back of the head with a wine bottle and possibly kill him.
  • ◆If the player kills said guard before Strauss does, they will lose honor.
  • ◆After the mission, some of the gang will comment on Arthur regardless of his haircut when you interact with them.
  • ◆Trelawny will not be seen again in the camp, after the mission's conclusion.
  • ◆When at the barber shop, even if the player does not give Arthur a smarter haircut, the mission will still continue as normal. However, he must change either his hair or beard before proceeding unless he skips ahead through failing thrice.
  • ◆Trelawny is seen reading a newspaper before telling Arthur that they are about to rob the Grand Korrigan riverboat in the Lannahechee River, during the mission's introductory cutscene. The player can buy this same newspaper and see that he got this lead from an article advertising the game in which Arthur was about to participate in.
