Static Planes

Static Planes are uncontrollable monoplane aircraft, usually narrow-body jet airliners or business jets, placed around airports rather than available for flight. Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City park several business jets at Francis International Airport and Escobar International Airport. Grand Theft Auto Advance expands the airport scenery with passenger aircraft, business jets and monoplanes at Francis International. Later games use related jet designs, including the aircraft in Love on the Run and the larger blue-striped version in Vice City Stories.

In GTA IV and Chinatown Wars, Ogham jets remain parked at Francis International Airport, although Chinatown Wars also shows them taking off and landing without taxiing. GTA V and GTA Online place several Static Planes on the tarmac at Los Santos International Airport. Their liveries include Adios Airlines, Caipira Airways and Air Herler. A more detailed FlyUS example appears in Bury the Hatchet, with a modelled cabin, higher-resolution textures and an older-looking interior. FlyUS planes in the introduction use the same detailed treatment. Their engines can be heard when someone approaches.

For GTA VI, the material identifies one distant sighting only. A Static Plane in the Air Herler livery seen in GTA V and GTA Online is parked at Vice City International Airport in a clip from the September 2022 leaks. The source does not describe an interior, movement or any other use for the aircraft.
