Algernon Wasp

Algernon Wasp is a Saint Denis milliner known as the "King of Corsets." He dresses with elaborate care and has a nervous, mercurial manner, moving quickly between outrage at his clients and affection for them. He has little patience for people he considers common or for newly acquired wealth, while admiring the old aristocratic families. His anxieties also extend to his eating and weight, subjects that upset him when they arise.

Arthur Morgan first encounters Algernon at the Mayor's party during "The Gilded Cage." Algernon begins choking on a nut amid the guests. If Arthur comes to his aid, Algernon recovers, thanks him, and hands over a business card, inviting Arthur to visit his Saint Denis premises. If Arthur does not intervene, another guest, Ruprecht O'Keith, helps Algernon instead.

When Arthur Morgan, or later John Marston, calls on Algernon, the milliner is seeking rare exotic materials for his work. He sends his visitor across Lemoyne to gather the items he requires for his designs. As the requested materials are brought in, Algernon continues his commissions. Once the collection is complete, he gives the visitor an exotic hat and Algernon's Revolver at his Saint Denis establishment.
