Suffolk Punch

The Suffolk Punch is a medium-sized Draft horse breed in Red Dead Redemption 2. It has a compact, stocky build and Heavy handling, giving it limited reactivity and agility compared with more nimble riding horses. Its two coats are Red Chestnut and Sorrel, both marked by the breed's chestnut colouring. The breed has speed rated at 3 and acceleration rated at 2, placing its movement below that of faster riding horses.

Suffolk Punch horses are found in the world as horses belonging to other people, including animals in towns and those hauling wagons. They cannot be bought and are acquired by stealing them. Both the Red Chestnut and Sorrel variants are encountered in these circumstances, often already attached to the work for which the breed is used.

The game uses the Suffolk Punch as a working draft horse, pulling wagons and coaches. Its sturdy frame, health and stamina suit prolonged heavy labour, including farm work, and allow it to keep working for long periods. That endurance comes with the weight and slower movement expected of a draft horse, making it less responsive and harder to manoeuvre than a riding horse.
