El Tennessee Walker es un caballo de monta mediano de Red Dead Redemption 2, con manejo Standard. Su cabeza refinada, su porte elegante, su paso comodo y su trote caracteristico lo distinguen. Responde y gira con una agilidad moderada. Dentro de los caballos de monta, favorece la velocidad y la aceleracion frente a la salud y la resistencia, por lo que figura entre las opciones mas modestas de la clase pese a su buen ritmo para viajar.
La mayoria de los pelajes del Tennessee Walker se pueden domar en la naturaleza o robar. Hay ejemplares salvajes en The Heartlands de New Hanover, en la Wapiti Indian Reservation del centro de Ambarino, en las afueras de Blackwater en West Elizabeth y alrededor de Armadillo en New Austin. Algunos pelajes tambien se pueden comprar. La raza se emplea como caballo de uso diario, apropiado para recorrer el mapa sin depender de una durabilidad excepcional.
Varios Tennessee Walkers aparecen junto a personajes concretos y en misiones de la historia. Kieran Duffy monta un Flaxen Roan llamado Branwen en "Old Friends", y Branwen aparece en Horseshoe Overlook cuando Kieran se incorpora a la banda. En "Outlaws From the West", Arthur Morgan toma el Mahogany Bay unico del establo de Adler Ranch. Tras "Exit Pursued by a Bruised Ego", puede ponerle nombre o venderlo.

- ◆There is a loading screen that depicts an NPC riding a Flaxen Roan Tennessee Walker, despite the coat only being available to purchase during the epilogue. Trailers also depict the Flaxen Roan spawning ambiently, implying that the relegation to the stables and Kieran was a late addition.
- ◆If the player enters a mission, respawns, or restarts the game without an active main horse, they will be given a Chestnut Tennessee Walker.
- ◆The Scarred Black Rabicano is mistakenly classed as a work horse. Despite being labelled as a Tennessee Walker, this horse uses a slightly modified version of the Appaloosa model.
- ◆Despite being a mangy horse, strangely the Scarred Black Rabicano Tennessee Walker has the highest stats of any other Tennessee Walker, sharing stats with the Dark Bay Andalusian, the Dapple Dark Gray Hungarian Half-bred, and the Bay Roan Ardennes.

- ◆The Black Rabicano is a very heavily expressed Rabicano with two socks, a star, and a snip. The Scarred Black Rabicano features the same markings, albeit with extensive damage and fur loss throughout the entire body revealing the underlying skin.
- ◆The Dapple Bay Tennessee Walker demonstrates subtle sooty characteristics.
- ◆The Gold Palomino has a stripe and four socks, in addition to a mane and tail that has not been bleached by the sun. Curiously, the hooves are a solid dark brown color which is considerably rare.
- ◆The Red Roan has a sun-bleached flaxen mane and tail with four socks and a bald face marking. This would sometimes be referred to as "chestnut roan", and the base colors are similar to the Painted Quarter Horse from Red Dead Redemption.
- ◆The Flaxen Roan could be referred to as 'chestnut roan' or 'red roan' and has a mane and tail that has not been bleached by the sun.
- ◆The Mahogany Bay is a Bay Frame Overo that does not display the characteristic 'white face' most overos have, instead featuring a single star and four socks. The all-black face is from the sooty gene, and while some horses may have brown around their muzzle area, it incorrectly covers the entire muzzle including the inner nose and the lips.
