Le Dutch Warmblood est une grande race de Horse classée dans la catégorie Work. Il possède de longues jambes et une constitution robuste, adaptées à son rôle de cheval de travail endurant. Les Dutch Warmblood utilisent le maniement Standard, qui leur confère une réactivité et une agilité modérées. La race existe en quatre robes : Chocolate Roan, Sooty Buckskin, Seal Brown et l'unique Cremello Gold.
Parmi les chevaux de travail, les Dutch Warmblood sont fiables et en bonne santé. Ils disposent généralement d'une grande endurance, avec une santé et une vitesse moyennes, tandis que leur accélération est inférieure à leurs autres attributs. Leur maniement Standard les rend stables plutôt que particulièrement agiles. La plupart des robes de Dutch Warmblood peuvent être achetées, tandis que l'une d'elles est montée par un habitant aléatoire.
L'unique Dutch Warmblood Cremello Gold est Buell, le cheval de Hamish Sinclair en 1898 et 1899. Si John rencontre Hamish, Buell est également présent en 1907. Hamish l'a nommé d'après son commandant durant la American Civil War. Après "The Veteran IV", Arthur ou John peut garder Buell, le vendre ou le laisser derrière lui. Buell ne peut pas être renommé.
Anecdotes
- ◆Both the Sooty Buckskin and the Seal Brown can be obtained for free off bounty hunters. The Sooty Buckskin can be obtained from random encounters: the prospector or the drunk needing directions (the horse will kick the man if he is misled). The Seal Brown can additionally be obtained from Pinkertons in Blackwater pre-epilogue.
- ◆While being chased by Cornwall's men in the mission "An Honest Mistake", a Seal Brown can be stolen from one of Cornwall's men.
- ◆During a random encounter with a man fending off wolves, a deceased Chocolate Roan can be spotted lying on the ground nearby.
- ◆The presence of the Dutch Warmblood in-game is highly anachronistic, as the breed was not developed until the 1960s. An explanation for this is that the horse is meant to be the similar, though much older Hanoverian Warmblood.
- ◆It is possible to get the Chocolate Roan for free during the Chapter 2 Mission "Exit Pursued by a Bruised Ego". After purchasing their horse of choice, while still inside the stables, jump into the stall where the warmblood is kept and then feed/brush it until the temporary horse icon appears on the mini-map. Exit the stables and complete the mission as normal. Return to Valentine and whistle for the horse, and it will come to you. You can then saddle and stable the horse as your own.
