O Dutch Warmblood é uma raça de cavalo grande da classe Trabalho. Suas pernas longas e sua constituição forte combinam com a função de cavalo de trabalho resistente. A raça usa a condução Padrão, com reatividade e agilidade moderadas. Há quatro pelagens: Chocolate Roan, Sooty Buckskin, Seal Brown e a exclusiva Cremello Gold.
Entre os cavalos de trabalho, o Dutch Warmblood é resistente e confiável. Costuma ter bastante vigor, saúde e velocidade medianas, mas aceleração inferior aos seus outros atributos. Sua condução Padrão o torna um cavalo estável, em vez de particularmente ágil. A maioria das pelagens pode ser comprada, enquanto uma pertence a um morador aleatório.
O único Dutch Warmblood Cremello Gold é Buell, o cavalo de Hamish Sinclair em 1898 e 1899. Caso John encontre Hamish, Buell também aparece em 1907. Hamish o batizou em homenagem a seu comandante na Guerra Civil Americana. Depois de "The Veteran IV", Arthur ou John pode ficar com Buell, vendê-lo ou deixá-lo para trás. Buell não pode receber outro nome.

- ◆Both the Sooty Buckskin and the Seal Brown can be obtained for free off bounty hunters. The Sooty Buckskin can be obtained from random encounters: the prospector or the drunk needing directions (the horse will kick the man if he is misled). The Seal Brown can additionally be obtained from Pinkertons in Blackwater pre-epilogue.
- ◆While being chased by Cornwall's men in the mission "An Honest Mistake", a Seal Brown can be stolen from one of Cornwall's men.
- ◆During a random encounter with a man fending off wolves, a deceased Chocolate Roan can be spotted lying on the ground nearby.
- ◆The presence of the Dutch Warmblood in-game is highly anachronistic, as the breed was not developed until the 1960s. An explanation for this is that the horse is meant to be the similar, though much older Hanoverian Warmblood.
- ◆It is possible to get the Chocolate Roan for free during the Chapter 2 Mission "Exit Pursued by a Bruised Ego". After purchasing their horse of choice, while still inside the stables, jump into the stall where the warmblood is kept and then feed/brush it until the temporary horse icon appears on the mini-map. Exit the stables and complete the mission as normal. Return to Valentine and whistle for the horse, and it will come to you. You can then saddle and stable the horse as your own.
