Il Musket è un'arma a colpo singolo della classe Shotguns, anche se si comporta più come un fucile che come un fucile a canne mozze convenzionale. Il suo modello ricorda un moschetto a pietra focaia del XIX secolo, con un calcio curvo simile a quelli montati sui fucili da tiro a pietra focaia. Lungo la canna è inciso "Edinburgh". Arriva in Grand Theft Auto V e Grand Theft Auto Online con l'aggiornamento Independence Day Special.
Nella versione originale di Grand Theft Auto V, viene aggiunto agli inventari dei protagonisti quando si scarica il DLC e può essere ritirato gratuitamente da Ammu-Nation. Nelle versioni successive, Ammu-Nation lo vende per $21,400 dopo il completamento di Mr. Richards. In Grand Theft Auto Online, Ammu-Nation talvolta lo mette in vendita a $21,400 durante le settimane evento dell'American Independence Day.
Il Musket spara una sola palla potente e precisa alla volta e richiede una lunga ricarica, lasciando chi lo usa esposto tra un colpo e l'altro. I suoi danni si avvicinano a quelli dell'Heavy Sniper, e un colpo di solito uccide un NPC. La palla può attraversare i bersagli, consentendo di colpire con un solo colpo diversi NPC in fila. Danneggia efficacemente anche motori dei veicoli, serbatoi di carburante e rotori di coda degli elicotteri, ma la sua gittata gli impedisce di fungere da arma per distanze molto lunghe.

- ◆Though the Musket has a long reload time, it is still unrealistic, as a real musket takes roughly 10 to 20 seconds to reload (depending on the user's skill and concentration) as opposed to the in-game musket, which takes about 5 seconds to reload. The player only drops gunpowder and the ball into the barrel without using the ramrod to push it. The player also does not load the pan with gunpowder and re-cock the hammer. - ◆Given its power and accuracy, it may be a Rifled Musket, having much more penetrating and accurate shots than smoothbore muskets.
- ◆This is likely the oldest gun in the series, being about 200 or 300 years old.
- ◆Even though it is in the Shotgun slot, it originally used Sniper Rifle ammo rather than lead balls. Due to this, one should be careful not having the Musket selected while selecting the shotgun slot in order to quickly take a shotgun. However, a subsequent update changed it to use shotgun ammo although it would be firing shotgun slugs (single projectile) rather than shells.
- ◆It is possible to reload slightly faster by quickly entering and exiting a bike just after the shot. Entering and exiting the bike will replace the reloading animation.
