Mama Watson è l'anziana e severa matriarca dei Watson Boys, una piccola banda di fuorilegge formata dai suoi figli Elijah, Ethan, Edgar ed Ezra. Prima del 1898, si stabilisce a Watson's Cabin in Big Valley, West Elizabeth, tra Wallace Station e Hanging Dog Ranch. Conosce anche uomini chiamati Walker e Wheeler, insieme ai ragazzi Russell. Il suo atteggiamento è impaziente e sospettoso, e scambia gli estranei per persone che si aspetta lavorino per lei.
In Red Dead Online, il protagonista trova Mama Watson nella sua capanna. Impassibile di fronte al visitatore, offre dello stufato e chiede aiuto per liberare alcuni suoi associati fuorilegge da un carro cellulare. Una volta completato il lavoro, diventa un contatto per ulteriori incarichi criminali, mandando il protagonista a compiere assassinii, intercettazioni ed evasioni dal carcere. Rimane a Watson's Cabin mentre si serve di altri per mandare avanti gli affari della banda.
Nel 1899, Arthur Morgan può incontrare Mama Watson all'interno della capanna. Credendo che sia uno dei suoi uomini, gli ordina di mettere il suo bottino in cantina, dove trova un Semi-Auto Shotgun. Quando si accorge del suo errore, lo caccia via e parte sul suo asino, minacciando di andare a prendere i suoi figli. Se Arthur torna, i Watson Boys lo affrontano. Mama Watson può sopravvivere a loro, ma se viene lasciata in vita dopo gli incontri, il suo corpo viene poi ritrovato a marcire nel suo letto. - ◆She and her sons appear to be inspired by the characters, the Daltons, from the Lucky Luke comics. The gang also had their mother as their de facto leader.
- ◆She is also possibly based on infamous 1930s outlaw Ma Parker also known as Ma Baker. She had 4 sons who did her bidding.
- ◆If the player kills Mama Watson's sons and runs away from her, she will pursue the player on a random horse.
- ◆Even if the player as Arthur in 1899 does not kill Mama Watson while entering her house and never returns to it as Arthur (so that he never ends up killing her sons) and only revisits it as John in 1907, she will still be found dead in her bed, despite the fact that her breadwinners were never killed by the player. Though, it's possible she died eventually due to old age. As to why she was left to rot in her bed and not buried, it's unknown.
- ◆Before giving a robbery mission in Red Dead Online, Mama Watson will occasionally express contempt for Colm O'Driscoll and his gang, while sending the player out to steal a score that they likely intended to hit.
- ◆When either Arthur or John meets Mama Watson for the first time, she will greet them with "Which one are you again? Walker, Wheeler?" This is a possible reference to controversial country singer Wheeler Walker Jr.
- ◆If either Arthur or John approaches Mama Watson's grave, they will say: "Couldn't have happened to a nicer lady."
- ◆Before entering the cabin, the player can hear Mama Watson coughing inside her house. This will continue until Arthur gets inside the shack.
