Arthur Morgan raggiunge il rifugio della banda a Lakay e viene riaccolto dopo il disastro a Saint Denis. Sadie Adler gli racconta che John Marston è stato catturato dopo la rapina in banca e mandato a Sisika Penitentiary, dove è tenuto in una squadra di detenuti incatenati. Gli altri danno ad Arthur da mangiare e da bere mentre torna dalle persone che sono riuscite a fuggire.
Più tardi arrivano Micah Bell e Javier Escuella, seguiti da Dutch van der Linde. Leopold Strauss attribuisce a Sadie il merito di aver aiutato la banda a sopravvivere mentre Arthur e Dutch erano assenti. Abigail Roberts dice che Hosea Matthews e Lenny Summers sono stati recuperati dall'obitorio e sepolti. Poi arriva Bill Williamson, furioso per aver dovuto chiedere in giro dove si trovasse la banda.
La riunione finisce quando Agent Milton e i Pinkertons circondano Lakay e ordinano alla banda di arrendersi. Milton apre il fuoco con una mitragliatrice. Arthur segue Sadie attraverso una botola sotto un altro edificio, sbucando alle spalle degli assalitori mentre i Pinkertons incendiano l'insediamento. Combattono facendosi strada attraverso il villaggio con il sostegno di Bill, finché Arthur prende il controllo della mitragliatrice nemica e costringe i Pinkertons alla fuga.
Dopo l'attacco Dutch ringrazia Arthur e nota che la sua tosse sta peggiorando, ma Arthur minimizza. Messo alle strette riguardo a John, Dutch dice che un salvataggio dovrà aspettare, nonostante Abigail tema che John venga impiccato. Abigail chiede invece ad Arthur e Sadie di agire. Loro accettano di liberare John, e Sadie dice che preparerà un piano prima che Arthur la incontri a Saint Denis. Arthur resta con la banda a Lakay.
Curiosità
- ◆Although this mission takes place at a hideout, Mary-Beth Gaskill, Karen Jones and Jack Marston are absent. They are unlikely to be on the floor above, due to it being such a small space, unless they are all huddled in the corner that cannot be seen. It's impossible to tell since the ladders are not usable. As they aren't seen in a cutscene either, is possible that Mary-Beth, Karen and Jack were out of camp during the mission shopping or scouting.
- ◆Molly O'Shea and Josiah Trelawny are also absent, though this is presumably intentional due to Molly having been drinking in Saint Denis and Trelawny usually traveling away from the gang.
- ◆At the end of the mission, Micah can be seen subtly killing an injured Pinkerton agent with a knife. Given how Micah is later revealed as the Pinkertons' informant who almost certainly gave the Pinkertons the location of the hideout, it is likely that he did so in order to stop the Pinkerton from revealing anything.
- ◆If the player alerts the Pinkertons before going through the trapdoor of the other house with Sadie, Dutch will shout for Bill and Micah to "get out there and help them", and their markers on the mini map can be seen going out to fight. Despite this, the mission fails immediately afterwards.
- ◆Dead Eye Targeting's fatal region highlights unlock when Arthur initiates combat.
- ◆Arthur's eyes become swollen following this mission, a sign of his tuberculosis. They remain like this for the rest of his playthrough.
- ◆In the gameplay trailer, Arthur has a more healthy appearance rather than a sick and underweight appearance. This was presumably done to avoid any spoilers.
