Arthur Morgan llega al refugio de la banda en Lakay y recibe una bienvenida tras el desastre de Saint Denis. Sadie Adler le cuenta que John Marston fue capturado después del atraco al banco y enviado a Sisika Penitentiary, donde permanece en una cuadrilla de presos encadenados. Los supervivientes le dan comida y bebida a Arthur mientras vuelve con los suyos.
Más tarde aparecen Micah Bell y Javier Escuella, seguidos por Dutch van der Linde. Leopold Strauss atribuye a Sadie la supervivencia de la banda durante la ausencia de Arthur y Dutch. Abigail Roberts explica que recuperaron los cuerpos de Hosea Matthews y Lenny Summers de la morgue y los enterraron. Entonces llega Bill Williamson, molesto porque tuvo que preguntar por la ciudad para encontrar a la banda.
El reencuentro termina cuando Agent Milton y los Pinkertons rodean Lakay y exigen la rendición de la banda. Milton abre fuego con una ametralladora. Arthur sigue a Sadie por una trampilla bajo otra casa y sale a espaldas de los atacantes mientras los Pinkertons prenden fuego al poblado. Con la ayuda de Bill, resisten hasta que Arthur toma la ametralladora enemiga y obliga a los Pinkertons a retirarse.
Dutch agradece a Arthur su ayuda y nota que su tos ha empeorado, pero Arthur le quita importancia. Cuando le preguntan por John, Dutch dice que el rescate tendrá que esperar, pese al miedo de Abigail de que lo ahorquen. Abigail recurre entonces a Arthur y Sadie. Ambos aceptan liberar a John, y Sadie dice que preparará un plan antes de reunirse con Arthur en Saint Denis. Arthur permanece con la banda en Lakay.
Curiosidades
- ◆Although this mission takes place at a hideout, Mary-Beth Gaskill, Karen Jones and Jack Marston are absent. They are unlikely to be on the floor above, due to it being such a small space, unless they are all huddled in the corner that cannot be seen. It's impossible to tell since the ladders are not usable. As they aren't seen in a cutscene either, is possible that Mary-Beth, Karen and Jack were out of camp during the mission shopping or scouting.
- ◆Molly O'Shea and Josiah Trelawny are also absent, though this is presumably intentional due to Molly having been drinking in Saint Denis and Trelawny usually traveling away from the gang.
- ◆At the end of the mission, Micah can be seen subtly killing an injured Pinkerton agent with a knife. Given how Micah is later revealed as the Pinkertons' informant who almost certainly gave the Pinkertons the location of the hideout, it is likely that he did so in order to stop the Pinkerton from revealing anything.
- ◆If the player alerts the Pinkertons before going through the trapdoor of the other house with Sadie, Dutch will shout for Bill and Micah to "get out there and help them", and their markers on the mini map can be seen going out to fight. Despite this, the mission fails immediately afterwards.
- ◆Dead Eye Targeting's fatal region highlights unlock when Arthur initiates combat.
- ◆Arthur's eyes become swollen following this mission, a sign of his tuberculosis. They remain like this for the rest of his playthrough.
- ◆In the gameplay trailer, Arthur has a more healthy appearance rather than a sick and underweight appearance. This was presumably done to avoid any spoilers.
