A Shady Belle, Arthur parla con Hosea quando Dutch arriva con la notizia che Angelo Bronte li ha invitati alla festa in giardino del sindaco Henri Lemieux a Saint Denis. Quella sera, Lenny accompagna Arthur, Dutch, Hosea e Bill alla residenza del sindaco. Vestiti per l'occasione, consegnano le armi all'ingresso e Luca li scorta all'interno. Hosea e Bill si uniscono agli invitati, mentre Arthur segue Dutch al piano di sopra per incontrare Bronte su un balcone.
Bronte indica Mayor Lemieux e diversi altri invitati, deridendo le persone riunite sotto di loro. Quando Dutch gli chiede di lavoro, Bronte lo indirizza alla stazione dei tram di Saint Denis, dove viene custodito del denaro. Di nuovo nel cortile, Dutch manda Hosea a cercare un'altra opportunità e chiede ad Arthur di trovare il sindaco. Arthur raggiunge Lemieux presso la fontana, dove un ubriaco sta molestando Evelyn Miller, e allontana l'uomo dal ricevimento. All'esterno, Dutch, Arthur, Hosea e Bill lasciano Saint Denis dopo aver recuperato le armi. Le informazioni contenute nei documenti offrono alla banda due possibili obiettivi, una partita di poker su un battello fluviale e la Saint Denis Bank, mentre Bill si lamenta della serata. Lenny li riporta a Shady Belle. La mattina seguente, Dutch sveglia Arthur nella sua stanza, parla delle rapine e delle richieste fatte da Rains Fall e Eagle Flies, poi insiste sul fatto che alla banda serve soltanto un altro colpo.

Curiosità
- ◆The mission's title is a pun on the term "Gilded Age," which has come to refer to the 1870-1900 era of United States history known for excesses in wealth, power, and corruption among elite society. The term itself comes from The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today, an 1873 satiric novel by Mark Twain and Charles Dudley Warner. It also forms part of the title of the 1900 Tin Pan Alley ballad "A Bird in a Gilded Cage".
- ◆Also, the phrase "gilded cage" is used to describe a luxurious and restricted environment, which could refer to the nature of this mission which has the player restricted to a rather grand and enjoyable party that they cannot leave willingly.
- ◆Lenny Summers is the driver of the coach that Hosea, Dutch, Bill, and Arthur are inside when arriving at the mayor's residence. Upon leaving, Dutch can be heard saying, "Here comes Lenny."
- ◆In the ending cutscene, Arthur can be seen waking up on a stack of bags instead of on his bed. Dutch can also be seen reading a letter from Mary Linton.
- ◆Originally, Molly O'Shea was going to accompany the gang during this mission, as the outfit she would have worn was found in the game files.
- ◆Javier Escuella, the cut Saint Denis fence shopkeeper, and Archibald Jameson have unused tuxedos which were likely intended for this mission.
- ◆If Algernon's business card is missed then Arthur will have a sketch of Algernon after the mission.

- ◆There is an unused cutscene found in the PC files of the game, where Arthur and Dutch were supposed to buy clothes from the tailor.
- ◆When replaying the mission a glitch may occur with Jean-Marc Mercier, where his clothes may change to his plaid suit instead of formal attire in the mission.
- ◆This may also occur with Algernon Wasp, who may wear his casual blue attire instead of his red suit.
- ◆If the player gets caught by Pierre once, he will tell Arthur to go back to the party. If the player is caught twice, he will warn Arthur to return to the party or he will escort him out. If the player is caught a third time, Pierre will tell the guards to remove Arthur and the mission will fail.
- ◆The mission will instantly fail if Pierre catches Arthur in the Mayor's office.
- ◆It is possible to keep the tuxedo that Arthur wears during the mission. The player must abandon the escort and cancel the mission. They will be returned to Shady Belle but will still be wearing the tuxedo. However, it is recommended for players to make an extra save as the glitch will cause all of the weapons to disappear from the player's inventory as well as the weapons on the player's horse.
- ◆The player can overhear a woman who Arthur can serve drinks to talk about how she wishes her husband would die quickly due to his sickness, with another woman replying "Tuberculosis is a strange disease," an indication of Arthur's diagnosis in the next chapter.
