A Grenade é uma granada de fragmentação da classe Thrown em Grand Theft Auto V. Trata-se de um explosivo arremessável, com preço listado de $2.000. Seus atributos registram 95 de dano, 20 de cadência, 10 de precisão, 15 de alcance e capacidade de 10. Ela é usada para atingir pessoas, veículos e outros objetos dentro da área da explosão.
O modelo retoma o visual da Grenade de Grand Theft Auto IV, mas surge mais limpo em GTA V e traz marcações visíveis. Esses detalhes lembram as inscrições de granadas M61, inclusive uma marca "M61". O desenho é baseado na M61, uma variante da M26A1 equipada com um clipe de segurança adicional na alavanca.
A Grenade funciona de forma semelhante à de Grand Theft Auto IV. Uma granada armada pode ser deixada no chão ou segurada por pouco tempo antes do arremesso, mas explode na mão de quem a segura por tempo demais. Seu aviso sonoro é mais discreto do que antes, o que torna perigoso segurá-la até perto da detonação. Inimigos percebem granadas chegando e tentam se afastar, embora NPCs próximos ainda possam ficar atordoados ou feridos pela explosão.
Curiosidades
- ◆In games (excluding GTA San Andreas), if the player throws a grenade in the water, the grenade will not show an explosion or waves created by explosion's vibrations, but the explosion's sound can still be heard. Also, if the player throws a grenade very high up in the air, the grenade again will not show an explosion (only seen in GTA Vice City and GTA Liberty City Stories).
- ◆In 3D Universe games, the player can take more than one direct grenade blast before dying. In games however, one direct grenade blast will kill the player.
- ◆In GTA IV, it is possible to throw back grenades that have been thrown at the player. This can be done by picking up the grenade like any other throwable object.
- ◆In the files of The Ballad of Gay Tony, there is an unused model of the grenade that looked taller and slimmer, with a safety lever of a grey color instead of a brownish one. It was possibly an alternative of the grenade that was scrapped.
- ◆In GTA Chinatown Wars, the grenade impact and explosion sounds originate from the original Max Payne game.
- ◆In GTA V, Chop will try to fetch grenades if thrown in place of a ball.
- ◆On the Social Club image, the markings on the grenade reads "M61", which is a type of grenade used by the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In-game however, the markings read "M69A1", which is closer to the designation of the Grenade Launcher in The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony.
