Em Horseshoe Overlook, Susan Grimshaw avisa Arthur Morgan que John Marston está procurando por ele e o espera perto de uma árvore.
Arthur encontra John, que conta ter recebido de Uncle uma pista sobre um roubo a trem. Mary-Beth descobriu a oportunidade durante uma ida a Valentine. Arthur hesita no começo, até John propor atravessar uma carroça de petróleo nos trilhos para obrigar o trem a parar.
Arthur aprova a ideia e fica encarregado de encontrar uma carroça de petróleo apropriada em The Heartlands, New Hanover. John segue para Valentine em busca de mantimentos e de algo para Abigail.

- ◆If John is followed after the cutscene, he will travel to Valentine and stop in front of the Doctor's Office, and stay on his horse.
- ◆Players can get John's Cattleman Revolver early before starting the mission.
- ◆Due to the mission only being a cutscene, it can not be replayed.
- ◆The subtitles say "Scarlet Meadows", despite the proper spelling being "Scarlett Meadows".
