Luisa Fortuna ثورية مكسيكية شابة من Campo Mirada في Perdido، Nuevo Paraíso. وُلدت عام 1892، وتعلّم نفسها القراءة والكتابة والتحدث بالإنجليزية، ثم تتدرب لتصبح معلمة. بحلول عام 1911، تقاتل مع Reyes' Rebels ضد حكومة Colonel Allende. تكرّس Luisa نفسها للقضية بشدة، وتؤمن بأن Abraham Reyes سيحرر المكسيك وتتوقع أن تتزوجه، رغم أن Reyes يعاملها مرارا كفلاحة يمكن الاستغناء عنها ويكافح لتذكر اسمها.

يلتقي John Marston بـ Luisa بعدما يطلب Emilio Fortuna منه ومن Landon Ricketts إخراجها من سجن حكومي. وسرعان ما تزج John في صراع المتمردين. تظل Luisa مخلصة لـ Reyes رغم سلوكه، وتزداد معاملتها لـ John برودة بعدما يعمل لصالح Mexican Army. تخبره بأنها لا تستطيع أن تغفر مساعدته لـ Allende، لكنها تواصل طلب عونه حين تحتاج الثورة إلى بندقية أخرى.

تطلب Luisa من John مرافقة شقيقتها Miranda إلى الأرصفة كي تهرب إلى Yucatan. ثم تطلب مساعدته لتحرير Reyes من El Presidio وتقنعه بالانضمام إلى هجوم حرب عصابات بعدما يقتل جنود الحكومة والدها. بعد ذلك، تنظم Luisa الهجوم على Sepulcro، حيث يطارد المتمردون Captain de Santa. ولا يتزعزع إيمانها بـ Reyes والثورة رغم كل هذه الخسائر.

خلال معركة Escalera، يجد John Reyes على وشك أن يعدمه Raul Zubieta وجنديان. وبينما يحاول John تأمين إطلاق سراح Reyes، تندفع Luisa نحو Zubieta بسكين الصيد الخاصة بها. يطلق رجال Zubieta النار عليها ثلاث مرات في صدرها، فتُقتل. يقتل John الجنديين، ويبارز Zubieta ويقتله، ثم يحرر Reyes. وحين يواجه John Reyes بشأن موت Luisa، يعجز Reyes مجددا عن تذكر من كانت.

معلومات طريفة

◆Her characteristics draw parallels with the main character in the short story written by Katherine Anne Porter called "Flowering Judas", where a young woman named Laura falls in love with a shallow, boastful revolutionary.
◆In singleplayer, Luisa is seen wearing a dress throughout the game, though she is given chaps in multiplayer, a similar change applied to Abigail Marston.
◆Even if John mentions to many people he has a family, he only reveals one of their names to Luisa: she asks during "Father Abraham" for his son's name, and he tells her.
◆Her last name means "luck", which is ironic considering her death later on in the story. On the other hand, this can be considered a better fate than being abused and heartbroken by Reyes, who did not reciprocate her romantic feelings for him and instead considered her as "some peasant girl with a tight c*nt."
◆In a pre-release version of the game Luisa had a more defeated, unhygienic face. Her teeth were a dark yellow and her hair was unkept.
◆She is one of the three major characters who do not ride horses at all. The others are Agustin Allende and Nigel West Dickens.
◆A man buried at Sepulcro cemetery, Alejandro Fortuna, may be related to Luisa. According to his gravestone, "he died for his country".
◆In Undead Nightmare, a regular undead uses Luisa's character model. Getting close enough to her and using Dead Eye Targeting reveals the gold cross necklace that Luisa wears throughout the game. This undead is first encountered in Escalera.
