• ◆The mission is heavily inspired by the introduction robbery from the movie "Heat." This was referenced by Michael, who says that he was inspired by a Vinewood action movie he saw himself. In another possible reference, during the opening cinematic, Trevor refers to Michael as "slick", which Tom Sizemore's character Michael Cheritto refers to Kevin Gage's character Waingro as. Also, if Trevor has a mullet and hockey mask during the mission, he closely resembles Waingro during the introduction heist. Finally, after blowing open the back doors of the van, one of the guards screams "My fucking ears! I'm fucking deaf!" This is almost exactly the same as is played out in Heat: the back doors are blown open and the guard goes deaf, leading to him being shot by Waingro.
• ◆If the player were to replay this mission, a Cheval Fugitive is automatically used as the getaway vehicle, which will be parked in Cypress Flats.
• ◆Michael was meant to be the one placing the explosives, as evidenced in the trailers.
• ◆If for any reason the player gets the Trashmaster stuck before reaching the getaway vehicle, simply destroying the trash truck there and then will allow them to progress onwards.
• ◆Despite Michael saying that the second Police Maverick has snipers onboard, the two NOOSE TRUs sitting on both sides of the helicopter are actually using carbine rifles instead, as they are seen recklessly spraying automatic gunfire from above.
• ◆After the Securicar is tipped over and before the doors are blown off, it will take 37 in-game days (25 real-life hours) for a wanted level to be gained and fail the mission. It is very unlikely this was an intentional decision.
• ◆After this mission, a user named @mackinit2009 will post on Bleeter. It is possibly referencing GTA San Andreas, as the game took place in 1992, and specifically the mission End of the Line, as it involved a "shootout in the streets" with Tenpenny driving all over East Los Santos while being chased by Carl and Sweet.
• ◆Scenes of Blitz Play were seen in the first official gameplay trailer of GTA V including the scene of Franklin ramming the armored car with the Tow truck.
• ◆According to the audio events in the game files for this mission, originally, an Ambulance was supposed to be used to block the road instead of a Trashmaster. This would have been a further reference to Heat, as an ambulance was used for the same purpose in the scene, then destroyed in a similar manner.
• ◆Michael, Trevor and Franklin perform the Three wise monkeys pose (see, hear, speak no evil) when Dave states that some of the government is corrupt.
• ◆If the player switches to Franklin shortly after the mission ends, he will still be driving the getaway vehicle around South Los Santos.
