Moose sind gewaltige, gehörnte Pflanzenfresser in Red Dead Redemption 2 und basieren auf Alces alces. Das Spiel umfasst den Western Bull Moose und den Western Moose. Der Bulle trägt ein Geweih, während der Western Moose die weibliche Variante ist. Beide ernähren sich von Weiden- und Birkentrieben, Wasserpflanzen und Kräutern und bewegen sich sowohl im Wasser als auch an Land fort.
Western Bull Moose sind in West Elizabeth heimisch. Western Moose bewohnen abgelegene Waldgebiete in West Elizabeth, Ambarino und New Hanover. Sie kommen in der Umgebung von Aurora Basin, Cairn Lake, Strawberry, Wapiti Indian Reservation und Willard's Rest sowie in Big Valley, Owanjila, Roanoke Ridge, Tall Trees, Grizzlies East und Grizzlies West vor.
Als Tiere der massiven Klasse benötigen Moose leistungsstarke Jagdausrüstung. Ein Bow mit Improved Arrows oder ein Langgewehr mit Zielfernrohr ist gegen sie wirksam. Ein erlegtes Tier liefert Moose Fur, Moose Antler und Mature Venison. Fell und Geweih werden beim Herstellen verwendet, und für das Main Campfire-Lagerupgrade namens "Moose Antlers" wird ein Western Bull Moose Antler benötigt.

- ◆Moose are notoriously rare and are one of the most (if not the most) difficult animals to come by. Even in their confirmed spawn locations, they are not guaranteed to spawn. This has led to some in-game jokes about Moose being even more legendary than the actual Legendary Moose.
- ◆The Compendium image for the Western Moose incorrectly shows a female Elk instead a female moose.
- ◆Moose, with the exclusion of Legendary Animals, are the largest naturally spawning animals in Red Dead Redemption 2. By height, they are taller than the other megafauna in the game, such as the Alligator, Bison, and Oxen.
- ◆The information on their diet mistakenly says they are omnivores, but in reality, moose are herbivores and do not eat meat. This is likely to be an error.
