Das Cuban Military ist die Streitmacht der kubanischen Regierung, die Guarma unter Colonel Alberto Fussar besetzt hält. Seine Soldaten bewachen die Zuckerplantagen der Insel, setzen Fussars Herrschaft durch und unterdrücken den von Hercule Fontaine angeführten Aufstand. Fussar leitet die Truppe von Aguasdulces aus, wobei Levi Simon als seine rechte Hand fungiert und Angel für ihn Gefangene verhört.
Nachdem das Schiff der Van der Linde gang auf der Flucht aus Saint Denis sinkt, erreicht Arthur Morgan Guarma und trifft wieder auf die gestrandete Gang. Soldaten von Levi Simon nehmen Arthur, Dutch van der Linde, Bill Williamson, Micah Bell und Javier Escuella gefangen und ketten sie neben gefangene Rebellen. Fontaines Aufständische greifen die Eskorte an. Javier wird angeschossen und fortgebracht, während Arthur, Dutch, Bill und Micah mit den Rebellen entkommen.
Arthur schließt sich Fontaines Sache an, als das Militär Plantagenarbeiter hängen will, die Guarma verlassen wollten. Ein Betäubungspfeil bringt Arthur in die Gewalt des Militärs, wo Angel ihn befragt. Arthur befreit sich, schlägt Angel bewusstlos und rettet die Arbeiter. Anschließend dringen er und Dutch in Aguasdulces ein, zerstören einen Zuckerprozessor, um die Soldaten herauszulocken, und befreien Javier. Arthur hält die Verfolger auf, bevor er sich den anderen bei Cinco Torres anschließt.
Bei Cinco Torres erklärt Fontaine, dass das Cuban Military Guarma blockiert hat und Fussar ein Kriegsschiff aus Kuba angefordert hat. Das Schiff greift das Fort an, während unterhalb Soldaten anlanden, doch Arthur versenkt es mit einer Kanone. Später greift die Gang Aguasdulces an, befreit den Kapitän des Schiffes, das sie nach Guarma brachte, und kämpft sich durch das Militär, um die Geschützbatterien zu zerstören. Fussar wird während des Angriffs getötet, und die Gang entkommt von der Insel.

- ◆If the player enters Guarma prior to Chapter 5 using exploits, the soldiers will not be hostile to the player. If greeted by Arthur they will reply with basic and generic Spanish voice lines.
- ◆Also, if the player uses a glitch to avoid the restrictions in Guarma even after Chapter 5, they will reply even at John.
- ◆Cuban soldiers have almost perfect accuracy and will always spawn in very large numbers at one time, making them one of the most formidable enemies in the game.
- ◆The majority of the Cuban soldiers wear the Sun Hat, but many wear random variations of a sombrero, or no hat at all.
- ◆None of the soldiers wear any apparent rank insignia, and there doesn't appear to be any apparent rank structure other than the named characters.
