About this vehicle
The Dignity is a three-storey luxury yacht in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online. It is a party vessel rather than a usable boat: it cannot be driven or destroyed. Its design mainly resembles a yacht once owned by a Microsoft co-founder, with elements drawn from other yachts. It is also closely based on the yacht seen early in Max Payne 3, though it has altered textures, no regular interior and a US flag at the stern.
In Grand Theft Auto V, the Dignity appears as a fixed part of Daddy's Little Girl. Michael De Santa swims out to the yacht while Tracey De Santa is holding a party there, breaks it up and leaves as Tracey's friends and the owner pursue the departing group. The yacht is not present before or after that mission. In the enhanced version, its superstructure has a more modern, swept-back shape and the upper rear deck includes a helipad.
Grand Theft Auto Online uses the Dignity as a mission setting. In Series A - Coke, players board it to take cocaine from frat boys. Its rear has a retractable locker door, and this version includes interior areas resembling those from Max Payne 3, including the captain's room, bar sections and engine room, with jet skis at the stern. It also hosts Slashers III and the foreign-yacht version of Supplies Steal Mission - Clandestine.
Trivia
- โThe name of the yacht is either an ironic tongue-in-cheek joke to the wild, drug and sex filled parties that happen on the boat or a possible reference to the Deacon Blue song, "Dignity", which is about a boat with the same name.
- โWhile only the back of the yacht is supposed to be accessible during the mission, the rest of the yacht is also developed. If the player manages to reach the other side of the boat, they will find more of the reused exterior deck from Max Payne 3.
- โInterestingly, the Dignity can still be seen in the background of Dr. Friedlander's office during the mission Reuniting the Family; however, after the cutscene, the yacht will disappear.
- โIt can be also seen in the background during Franklin and Lamar, but it also disappears after the cutscene at Dr. Friedlander's office.
- โDue to shared content, the Dignity appears in its newer design during Series A - Coke on all platforms of the game. This is the only time the enhanced-version designed Dignity appears on 7th-generation consoles.
