Alligators

Alligators are reptiles due to appear in the State of Leonida. In GTA VI's first trailer, they roam through the state, including suburban neighbourhoods rather than remaining only in undeveloped areas. The trailer's animal footage places them in Leonida's populated surroundings as well as elsewhere across the state.

One first-trailer shot is presented as security-camera footage from a gas station supermarket. An alligator enters the supermarket, bringing it inside a business rather than leaving it outside the building. In another trailer scene, a separate alligator is pulled from the swimming pool at a residential home. Both appearances place the animals close to Leonida residents and businesses.

Alligators are particularly prominent in Grassrivers, the Leonida region most closely associated with them in the available material. They also appear on the seal of the State of Leonida. The seal depicts a person being eaten by an alligator, making the animal part of the state's official emblem as well as its trailer footage.
