John Marston meets Jeb Blankenship at Rathskeller Fork. Jeb says that his lost love has been taken by gangsters and asks John to search for her in Tumbleweed. John accepts the request and rides south toward the settlement, following the lead to the marked area outside town.

At Tumbleweed, John deals with the men occupying the area if they are still present. He finds Jeb's missing horse, Lucy, alongside Ann Stephenson. Ann has also been caught up in the gangsters' activities, and John takes charge of Lucy while Ann accompanies him on the return journey.

John rides Lucy back to Rathskeller Fork, with Ann travelling behind him. There, Jeb is reunited with the horse he calls his love. Ann and Lucy remain at Rathskeller Fork as John leaves Jeb with Lucy.

Trivia

  • โ—†After some time, in a later edition of the newspaper, it is reported that Jeb has married his "love" the horse, and that no friends or family members attended the ceremony.
  • โ—†The newspaper that announces Jeb's marriage to Lucy reveals that his last name is Blankenship.
  • โ—†In the Tumbleweed cemetery, there is a tombstone of a woman named Grace Blankenship who died in 1907 and is outlived by "loving husband Jeb". This grave is most assuredly the resting place of Jeb's late wife. Like Billy in "Flowers for a Lady", it is entirely possible that Jeb lost his sanity when his wife died, causing him to fall in love with a horse.
  • โ—†If the player tries to ride Lucy after completing the mission, they will be shot at.
  • โ—†If one is to save the game after completing this mission, Ann will enter the room next to the safehouse in Rathskeller Fork and stay there unless attacked.
  • โ—†Lucy is a Dutch Warmblood.
