The Legendary Bluegill is a Legendary Fish in Red Dead Redemption 2, based on Lepomis macrochirus. It is a rare bluegill distinguished from the ordinary fish of its species by its legendary status. Fishermen report it around Scarlett Meadows, and it is associated with Flat Iron Lake in Lemoyne.
It lives off the shore of Flat Iron Lake, south of Clemens Point and on the bank southwest of Rhodes, in the Scarlett Meadows region. Arthur can learn of the fish while fishing with Kieran near the Clemens Point camp during Chapter 3, after a stranger in the lake points out the large fish south of the camp.
The Legendary Bluegill is drawn by a Special Lake Lure, which Kieran identifies as the bait needed for it. Sightings become more common in rainy weather. It can be caught on its own or during the Stranger mission "A Fisher of Fish," where it is one of the 13 Legendary Fish.
Trivia
- โDuring the companion activity of fishing with Kieran in Chapter 3, if the player has a Special Lake Lure, Arthur Morgan can actually catch the fish to the excitement of Kieran.
- โIf Arthur returns and catches the Bluegill alone, the naked swimmer will reappear, and Arthur will thank him for telling him about the fish.
- โIf it has not been completed yet, catching the Legendary Bluegill will count toward the completion of Survivalist Challenge 1.
- โIt is possible to shoot the Bluegill with a pistol if you happen to see it swim close to the bank.
