Player notes
Before 1898, Jones is elected sheriff of Annesburg, the mining town in Roanoke Ridge, New Hanover. He works from the Annesburg Sheriff's Office and earns the respect of the town's residents through his service. As sheriff, he carries a Cattleman Revolver and represents the local law rather than any of the gangs operating around the region.
In Red Dead Online, Jones remains at his office in Annesburg. After bounty hunters take notices from the board outside, they bring wanted criminals to him. He accepts prisoners whether they arrive alive or dead, pays for their capture, and reacts to the condition in which each bounty is delivered.
During Red Dead Redemption 2, Jones can still be found at the Annesburg Sheriff's Office in 1899. He remains there when the story returns to the area in 1907, continuing to hold the office of sheriff in the town of Annesburg, Roanoke Ridge, New Hanover.
Trivia
- โUnlike other sheriffs and lawmen in Red Dead Redemption 2, Jones notably does not offer any Bounty Hunting missions to the player.
- โThe unnamed deputy marshal encountered in the final part of "The Noblest of Men, and a Woman" shares the same voice as Sheriff Jones.
- โDespite the massive shootout in the town that occurs in "Just a Social Call", Jones and his deputies are absent in the mission.
