Boaz is Javier Escuella's small Work horse in Red Dead Redemption 2. He has a Grey Overo coat and Standard handling. His speed and acceleration are both rated at 4, while his health and stamina are rated at 5, giving him stronger endurance and resilience than his pace suggests within the Work class.
He is usually kept at the Van der Linde gang's camp or found close to Javier during the gang's travels in 1899. Javier rides him through the gang's moves between camps and on several jobs, including the search for John Marston, the rescue of Sean Macguire and the attack on Cornwall Factory. Boaz carries Javier and, at times, other gang members or stolen horses.
Boaz remains Javier's mount until Javier escapes the Pinkertons during "Our Best Selves". A horse closely resembling him can later be bought by John at Tumbleweed Stable in 1907, and is also available in Red Dead Online.

- โBoaz is named after the Hebrew figure in the Old Testament's Book of Ruth.
- โBoaz was originally a black overo featuring a slightly different pattern, as seen in the game's first trailer.
- โDespite appearing alongside the gang's caravan in the intro, Boaz and Javier are not present anywhere at Colter during "Outlaws from the West". Given that the gang's eight draft horses are not present as well, it is implied that they rode off to take them to another location after the caravan's arrival and possibly to retrieve Maggie and Brown Jack, who are also not present.
