The Delights of Van Horn

Arthur meets Micah Bell and Bill Williamson at an old house in Roanoke Ridge after Micah learns that an Army shipment of dynamite is travelling from Annesburg toward Saint Denis. Micah orders Arthur and Bill to take it while he attends to his own plans. Arthur challenges Micah's growing influence over Dutch, and Micah mocks Arthur's illness until Bill stops the quarrel. Arthur then rides with Bill toward Van Horn Trading Post.

On the road, Arthur tells Bill that Dutch has lost his mind, but Bill rejects the accusation and says Arthur has gone soft. They wait for a Pinkerton patrol to pass before entering Van Horn. Bill proposes that Arthur pretend to be drunk in the road, but Arthur reverses the roles, takes Bill's Carcano Rifle and climbs into an abandoned building overlooking the street.

Bill staggers out before the dynamite wagon and collapses in its path. When an escort tries to move him, Bill opens fire and Arthur picks off the remaining soldiers from above. They seize the wagon and leave Van Horn, but mounted pursuers catch up. Bill drives while Arthur fights them off. At the Kamassa River, they meet Micah and John Marston. Micah has John take the dynamite to Bacchus Bridge, then tells Arthur to join him.
