El Karin Futo es un cupé deportivo compacto de dos puertas en Grand Theft Auto V, con capacidad para dos ocupantes. Su precio indicado es de $9,000. El modelo de GTA V conserva la silueta de cupé pequeño que usaba en GTA IV, y algunas unidades aparecen con un alerón negro en el maletero. La parte superior de la carrocería y las costuras del volante llevan el color principal, mientras que la parte inferior recibe el secundario.
El coche se basa sobre todo en el Toyota Corolla Levin AE86. Los detalles del frontal, la forma de la carrocería y el acabado de pintura también toman elementos de otros coches japoneses, mientras que los parachoques y parte de las luces traseras combinan otras referencias con pilotos de estilo Levin GT. El salpicadero reproduce de cerca el del AE86 y el volante recuerda a un MOMO MOD. 07. Sus ruedas Fujiwara se parecen a las RS Watanabe F8.
En GTA Online, el Futo admite libreas y más personalización visual. After Hours elimina de la carrocería estándar los adhesivos originales de la zona baja de los laterales y el emblema del capó para evitar que choquen con las libreas. Esas marcas siguen disponibles mediante la librea Classic Decals. Karin Rally Team, Legendary Racer, Team Auto Exotic, Rolling Dude No.7 y Garage Drift le dan al Futo aspectos de competición y drift.

- ◆Futo (ふと) literally translates to "inadvertently" in Japanese.
- ◆The name "Futo" is derived from the Japanese pronunciation for the word drift, "dorifuto" (ドリフト), probably referring the car's real-life counterpart as a popular drifting car. This is further referenced in the "Drift Missile" livery for its GTX variant in GTA Online, where the white "DORI-" word is scribbled on the left of the "Futo" badge, making it say "Dori-Futo".
- ◆"Futo" is also an anagram of tofu, possibly referencing the featured in the Initial D series, where the Toyota AE86 was used both for drifting and tofu delivery by the protagonist, . This is referenced in the "Delivery Boy" livery for its GTX variant, which is based on the livery from the aforesaid AE86, and the "Futo" badge will change to say "Tofu" instead if applied.
- ◆Interestingly, "Fujiwara", the surname of the protagonist from the Initial D series, is also the name of the custom tuner rims found in mod shops, which are identical to the Futo's stock wheels.
- ◆The 20-valve, 4-cylinder engine with 4-throttle bodies is a clear reference to the 16v-to-20v 4A-GE swap which is commonly swap into the Toyota AE86 from the Japanese-market only AE101 (Silvertop) and AE111 (Blacktop).
- ◆The Futo can be modded at Los Santos Customs to resemble the GT variant from GTA IV. However, the only different variants that the player can find on the streets are versions with and without the small lip spoiler on the rear.
- ◆If the "Custom Skirts" option is applied to the car, the "INLINE 20v" marking will appear on the rear portion.
- ◆The presence of the number "86" on the "Karin Rally Team" livery is a clear reference to the real life counterpart, the Toyota AE86 Corolla.
