Après avoir accepté d'aider Rains Fall avec Charles Smith, Arthur se rend à la tente de Rains Fall dans la Wapiti Indian Reservation. Une quinte de toux attire l'attention du chef, qui lui demande s'il se sent assez bien. Rains Fall reproche à Arthur de chevaucher avec Eagle Flies, qu'il juge trop impulsif, mais Arthur s'excuse. Le chef lui demande de l'accompagner jusqu'à un lieu sacré dans les Grizzlies East, et Arthur part avec lui.
Captain Monroe les arrête à l'extérieur de Wapiti pour leur annoncer que ses efforts visant à obtenir des terres pour la tribu ont échoué. Il demande à Arthur de l'aider dans une autre affaire, puis les laisse poursuivre leur route. En chemin, Rains Fall cueille de l'English Mace et du Ginseng pour la toux d'Arthur. Ils passent devant des loups qui se nourrissent d'un cheval mort, et Arthur les fait fuir sans leur tirer dessus. Leur conversation aborde Eagle Flies et Dutch van der Linde, la maladie d'Arthur et son fils décédé.
À O'Creagh's Run, Rains Fall découvre que le site sacré a été brûlé et que son Chanupa a disparu. Des bouteilles de Whiskey abandonnées parmi les ruines lui font soupçonner les soldats de l'Army postés non loin. En observant avec des jumelles, Arthur repère leur camp dans la vallée et propose de récupérer les morceaux de la pipe. Rains Fall accepte à contrecœur, en lui demandant de ne faire de mal à personne. Arthur entre dans le camp, prend le Chanupa près du feu central et le rapporte à Rains Fall à O'Creagh's Run.
Anecdotes
- ◆The Owl Feather Trinket slows down all core degradation by 15% - this means that Arthur's cores will drain by 5% instead of the previous 20%, which was also the case when Arthur returned from Guarma but prior to his TB diagnosis.
- ◆Despite the whiskey bottles at the site supposedly being empty, most of them can be picked up by the player as if they are full.
- ◆During the ride with Rains Fall, Arthur vocally scares away a pair of wolves feasting on a dead horse, which Rains Fall thanks him for - this is the only time in the game where wolves will not be hostile to the player. However, predators will also run away from carts or wagons.
- ◆The horse that the wolves are feasting on is a Tobiano American Paint.
- ◆The guards at the camp can be alerted, and even broken free from should the player become grappled, without preventing the player from receiving the Owl Feather Trinket.
- ◆When visited in free roam, the sacred site was previously already destroyed, even if visited as early as Chapter 2. This has been changed in an update, and if visited before the mission becomes active, the site will be intact.
- ◆If Arthur has already destroyed Bacchus Bridge with John Marston in "The Bridge to Nowhere", Rains Fall will point out the bridge to Arthur, which can be seen during their ride. Rains Fall will ask Arthur if his son did it which Arthur will deny. Rains Fall will then lament on the fact that Wapitis will likely be blamed for it anyway.
- ◆The herbs Rains Fall gathers, English Mace and Ginseng, are two of the three ingredients needed to craft a Special Health Cure, missing only Yarrow.
- ◆If the player fails the mission during the ride, Rains Fall will be wearing his outfit from "My Last Boy" and "The King's Son" instead of his default outfit.
