Dopo Pulling Favors, Hao apre una serie di gare clandestine notturne per Franklin Clinton. Tra le 20:00 e le 05:00, Franklin incontra i piloti alla partenza segnalata, sale su un veicolo idoneo e si schiera contro gli altri concorrenti. Il primo evento, Shift Work, inizia su Forum Drive a Chamberlain Hills, dove Franklin gareggia contro Hao e gli altri piloti per due giri.
Una vittoria porta un messaggio di Hao con il punto d'incontro successivo. City Circuit inizia su Clinton Avenue a Downtown Vinewood e si snoda attraverso il nord e l'ovest di Los Santos in un solo giro. Airport inizia vicino al terminal del Los Santos International Airport e porta Franklin attorno al sud di Los Santos per due giri. Segue Freeway, che utilizza la Olympic Freeway, la Del Perro Freeway e le loro rampe per due giri.
L'ultima gara di Hao inizia su Invention Court a Vespucci Canals. Per questo evento di due giri, Franklin passa a una motocicletta, gareggiando attraverso Vespucci e Del Perro. La serie termina a Vespucci Canals.
Curiosità
- ◆If the player has participated in any of Hao's races before completing the mission Father/Son, he will comment on Franklin's victory or loss as the player enters Los Santos Customs.
- ◆Alternatively, if the player has not done any of the races prior to that mission, Hao will encourage Franklin to sign up for the races.
- ◆The events of the Shift Work race are briefly mentioned by Hao in the Los Santos Tuners update. It is also mentioned that Hao ended up on third place in that race.
- ◆If the Strangers and Freaks mission Shift Work is replayed, there will be a red Ruiner parked nearby as a default car ready to be used, though the player still can use any other vehicle of their choice for the race. The Ruiner may spawn with either a covered or glass roof.
- ◆If the player approaches a race gathering and decides to steal one of the cars, the race will be dismissed and the other contestants will usually run off scared.
- ◆If the player acquires a wanted level for any reason during a race, the ongoing race will be aborted. This will be counted as a race loss.
- ◆Cars driven by NPC racers include: the Banshee, Feltzer, Sentinel XS, Prairie, and Dominator. These cars often have modifications such as roll cages and spoilers.
- ◆If the player is registered as a Rockstar Games Social Club member, there is a chance of at least one NPC racer driving an Elegy RH8.
- ◆Race meet locations may show a parked 9F.
- ◆At the beginning of each race, the car's radio will always be tuned into Soulwax FM.
- ◆The track layout of the Freeway race is shaped like a penis. This is another example of a sexual innuendo made by Rockstar.
- ◆Although these races are exclusive to Franklin, the Offroad Races and Sea Races are available to all three protagonists.
