Il Canis Mesa (off-road) è un SUV fuoristrada a quattro porte e quattro posti, nonché una versione Merryweather Security rialzata del Mesa normale. Monta paraurti rinforzati, piastre paramotore, un verricello, pedane laterali, un bull bar, un portapacchi sul tetto con fari e un esoscheletro tubolare. I passaruota sagomati lasciano spazio a pneumatici più grandi e a una maggiore escursione delle sospensioni, mentre uno snorkel, una ruota di scorta montata sul portellone e un tetto rigido opzionale completano la trasformazione.
La sua coppia gli conferisce ottime capacità in salita e, grazie al telaio esterno, rimane resistente ai danni. Può raggiungere velocità rispettabili, anche se il suo assetto alto lo rende più incline a ribaltarsi rispetto al Mesa standard. Abbassare le sospensioni presso Los Santos Customs riduce questa tendenza. Lo snorkel non gli consente di attraversare acque profonde, poiché lo scarico basso fa spegnere il motore quando viene sommerso. Utilizza la trazione integrale e sembra avere un V8 con cambio a cinque marce.
In Grand Theft Auto V, i Merryweather Mesas appaiono in Minor Turbulence, The Wrap Up, Meltdown e The Third Way. Minor Turbulence ne trasporta diversi nel Cargo Plane, mentre le altre missioni li portano al Kortz Center, lungo il percorso verso il garage di Michael's e durante la fuga dalla Foundry. Grand Theft Auto Online lo vende tramite Warstock Cache & Carry per $87,000. Anche le squadre di mercenari Merryweather arrivano a bordo di Mesas, e Agent 14 può consegnare un esemplare argentato senza tetto ai proprietari di Bunker. - ◆The Merryweather Mesa can be modified at any Los Santos Customs in both GTA V and GTA Online. However, the bodywork cannot be modified. Furthermore, it cannot be sold as of patch 1.08.
- ◆The Mesa's inability to be sold was fixed as of patch 1.27; however, players with existing Mesas prior to patch cannot sell them.
- ◆As is the case with the Bodhi, when switching to high beams, the roll cage lights will activate.
- ◆The tire size of the stock wheels is unique: it is larger than any custom wheel that can be fitted in LS Customs, slightly clipping through the ground.
- ◆The color of the spare tire changes depending on the color selected in the Secondary Color slot at LS Customs.
