Mesa (off-road)

The Canis Mesa (off-road) is a four-door, four-seat off-road SUV and a lifted Merryweather Security version of the regular Mesa. It carries reinforced bumpers, skid plates, a winch, side steps, a bull bar, a roof rack with lamps and a tubular exoskeleton. Cut-away arches make room for larger tyres and greater suspension movement, while a snorkel, a tailgate-mounted spare wheel and an optional solid roof complete the conversion.

Its torque gives it strong climbing ability and it remains durable under damage thanks to its external frame. It can reach respectable speeds, though its tall stance makes it easier to roll than the standard Mesa. Lowering the suspension at Los Santos Customs reduces that tendency. The snorkel does not let it cross deep water, as its low exhaust causes the engine to cut out when submerged. It uses all-wheel drive and appears to have a V8 with a five-speed gearbox.

In Grand Theft Auto V, Merryweather Mesas appear in Minor Turbulence, The Wrap Up, Meltdown and The Third Way. Minor Turbulence carries several in the Cargo Plane, while the other missions bring them to the Kortz Center, Michael's garage route, and the Foundry escape. Grand Theft Auto Online sells it through Warstock Cache & Carry for $87,000. Merryweather mercenary teams also arrive in Mesas, and Agent 14 can deliver a roofless silver example to Bunker owners.
